Oregon and Washington both manage to support two teams.
Year in year out Wazzu amd Oregon State
had games where they had under 30k people in announced attendance when they were still members of major conference football

Not a fan of USC but I don’t blame people for going to the beach instead. The gf and I almost went because it was only like 10 bucks to get in.
OU always has a hot game and always sells out. Just one example from 26 years ago but its hot every year.

2025 Attendance link from Reddit but the dude put in the work
Worst percentage in the P4: UCLA, Stanford, and Cal. Wazzu and OSU were over 80% full while they were both in power conference exile last year.

Yes. But tell me about how you can get to the beach in less than 30 min from Norman.
Or be up in the mountains if you drive an hour or so in the other direction (traffic permitting of course).

What else are people gonna do in Norman?
Los Angeles and Miami are completely different models than the rest of country when it comes to college spectatorship.

bullshite excuses. There was a beach picture posted that day and it was very light. We have some good hills an hour away.
Over 13m people within 50 miles of stadium.
Folks like you are just circle jerking coming up with excuses. Just admit that fanbase is fair weather fans. That term was likely invented in Southern Cali.
Bunch of pussies who won’t support players who practiced in heat and then played in that heat. I bet they were awestruck when they saw only maybe 20k fans in stands.

The cracks are starting to show
USC mostly empty stadium
UCLA fires AD because of athletics running a financial deficit
That’s two really strong programs with plenty of alumni $

Bill Simmons was gonna make up the difference for his guy Chesney but might have to save money after snitching on himself on the pod.

Miami is pretty bad and not comparable though. L.A. is near the top in college FBS football attendance. USC gets twice the attendance of Miami.
Houston is in the same tier as Miami. They have a P4 team that gets what? 25,000 people per game? And what does Rutgers get? Or Northwestern? LA is a decent city for college sports compared to its peers.

And you laughed at this.
The Arbuckle Mountains are an ancient mountain range in south-central Oklahoma in the United States.
Might not be Cali mountains but its still mountains. I keep seeing excuse for USC fans but they suck as fans and do not support program like SEC schools do

Yeah, they'd be better off at SoFi. A much better experience from a fan standpoint.
The Coliseum was renovated a few years ago and it's def better than it was before that. It's not terrible, but mid. The end zone seats on that side aren't used though. That's why they have the bleachers closer to the field.

Norman is a city of over 100k people and it's 20 miles to OKC, a city of 700k. Imagine thinking there's nothing to do in these places.

I legitimately have no idea what you’re trying to say here.

Mascona said if you huddled them all together it would be 15 or 20K???? I'm not so sure it would be that much.

A lot of USC fans still have PTSD from a string of bad coaches and poor results. Many are in a mindset of "prove it and we'll come back," and I can't blame them. It's been almost 20 years since Coach Carrol was there. A lot of people just gave up.
Since that time, USC fans have been frustrated by the team's decline in two main areas. Defensive toughness and the lack of a dominant running game. Those are hallmarks of USC football, so people have not liked the new look. If you ever read Dan Weber or listen to Harvey Hyde, those are usually their two main complaints.
This team can restore that legacy and if they can, the fans will come back.
