Why the frick would they even want to make this an issue. Yeah he wasn't in lockstep with the rest of the team, but do you really want to be the guy bitching about that considering the fact that he was honoring a fallen soldier?

so Bomani is melting that Eifert had a black mans name on his helmet, but it wasn't the right one?

and after googling so did Villanueva, so those black lives don't matter only criminal black lives

That's because this "black lives matter" movement isn't really about black lives, it's about the fraction of black people who are killed by police. Other black lives don't matter to these people.

How dare a veteran honor a fallen soldier instead of a worthless felon.

Kinda took it the other way. I think he meant "unfortunate" in the way the media has blown it up, not unfortunate because Villanueva actually did it.

I hope you’re right about that. Even if so, Ben’s been in the league for 100 years and is showing his lack of smarts with a weak quote like that.

Maybe he meant “unfortunately” that this is even a discussion point. Or he just tripped over his words.

Nobody will claim Ben is a Rhodes Scholar either way.

Do y’all not realize there’s a reason his quote was cut off at that?

They are trying to make it sound like he had a problem with it which if you use context clues, he doesn’t

No he wasn’t. He was awarded the Silver Star and there is a fight to upgrade it to a MOH. That’s likely why Villanueva chose him.

So he wasn't a mindless sheep honoring a thug piece of shite. Instead, he chose to honor an ACTUAL hero.

Frankly, Ben should STFU with his backhanded remark. Both he and Heyward have taken too many shots to the head.

Pretty sure Ben has always been a supporter of the police and military.

He definitely stumbled over his words there but the media didn’t help matters.

Hopefully more people deviate and express honor to their own "hero". If more people go against the anti police message this whole movement will die off like it should.

It's annoying that Ben thinks it's "unfortunate" but at least he acknowledges Villanueva is free to do what he wants. At the end of the day that's all that matters.
i think it was just a poorly worded sentence

Let me tell y’all a little bit about the Antwon Rose case.

First off, the officers were found not guilty on all counts. The jury reached a verdict in just 4 hours, and the jury was made up of 7 men and 5 women, and there were Black people on the jury.

As for the facts of the case, Antwon Rose participated in a drive-by shooting just 13 minutes before he was killed.

Rose was shot by police when police pulled over the vehicle matching the description of a vehicle that just participated in a drive-by shooting. Rose ran from the vehicle, and he was shot by police.

quote:

Under Pennsylvania law, police officers are justified in using force when they believe it is necessary to prevent death or serious injury to themselves or others, or if they believe it necessary to prevent a suspect’s escape from arrest. That suspect, the law continues, must have committed or attempted to commit a forcible felony and pose a danger to human life.

Rose had stolen a 9mm handgun in an armed robbery hours before. Drive-by victim William Ross told investigators on January 17, 2019 that Rose was in fact the individual who had shot him: "The beef was between me and him, that car came by, he shot me, I ran to the store." Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala stated that Rose had an empty 9-millimeter handgun magazine in his pocket.

Trial testimony from a scientist at the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office showed that Rose had gunshot residue on his hands at the time he was shot and his DNA was found on the 9mm pistol found under the passenger seat. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette published video footage showing Rose in the front passenger seat of a Chevrolet Cruze.

This is twice now this guy has gone against the team decision. Steelers should cut him. He is not a team player, all about himself.

Wow, thank you for highlighting what the NFL players now stand for. They want people to be "educated"? Well my guess is everyone won't come to the conclusion that they want.
