GOAT, because it’s used for really good current players like Lebron who are obviously not the greatest of all time. It’s overused.

I can't stand the term "game changer." Any walk of life not just sports. I don't know why, but it just irritates me. I listened to a boss at work constantly call something a game changer, and wanted to punch a wall.

By far the most misused word in the sports world for most of it's history be play by play commentators...Sportswiters, etc.
Ironic
"It's ironic that Tom Brady is playing for the Bucs because he already had a house in Tampa!".
" It's ironic that the Jets beat the Bills by 3 points because last year the Bills beat the Jets by 3 points!"
I don't know when it happened but the sports world decided that irony meant coincidence.

Using a sports analogy when describing something during the game of a completely different sport.
Like: “Partner, that punt looked like one of your chip shots. Har, Har, Har.”

The fact that a player can’t get fired up without screaming let’s go as loud as possible. Come up with something different to scream. I think every single athlete uses let’s go
