My only comment would be that if you are honest to your manager, boss, superior or whatever, and they aren’t supportive of you- then they don’t belong in a leadership role.

That’s fair. It doesn’t make you right. And if it as close to you as I’m thinking it is, I really and truly hope you find a new way to view this. Because your outlook, to me, is a huge problem.

two things that get me fired up is this and When people don’t understand how absolutely hard it is from parents to raise a kid with Special needs, and judge those said parents on every little move they make

100%

Obviously, an NFL QB is likely much different than all of our jobs.

If Pride was simply pointing if that depression caused him to perform poorly in his job, he shouldn't keep said starting job, then I'd 100% agree. I won't harp on it cause he apologized and said his piece but I'd just say that he, and Skip, did a really bad job at explaining that position. Seems virtually everyone did not grasp that was his only point, so that is on him.

Maybe not worded the best, but I do see your point now, and it's certainly fair, and I'd even agree.

Thanks for the clarification. We good? We good!!

We are all good.

I knew for the most part y’all honestly agreed with my point, so it was frustrating me to all get out when I was being told I don’t care about mental health or suicide

And, I handled that pretty poorly

One of the frustrating parts of dealing with depression is being able to rationalize and realize that so many people truly have it worse off than you and that you have many good things going for you, that you really should not be depressed. Unfortunately you can't just flip a switch and turn it off.

But that doesn’t mean your specific depression issues aren’t worth caring about.

Yes, Dak is a whole lot more fortunate than a lot of people, but his depression is still important. Telling yourself it isn’t because other people are going through worse struggles can prevent you from addressing the issue you need to work on.

I do agree Skip could have worded it better, but actually watching the segment, and watching both he and Shannon’s emotion I didn’t feel it came off as a simple callous statement of “suck it up pussy”

Honestly that maybe the worst way to go about it, and unfortunately that’s a lesson learned for me

Rhymes with hunt

But that’s what’s so funny about message boards. I said it with vigor, while drinking a beer laid back on the couch

Better to learn the lesson than never to get it. It's an issue I understand well. I have a family history of depression, have struggled with it myself, and have multiple relatives and some of my best friends have lost their dads due to suicide. It sucks. One of the hardest things is to downplay your issue as it not being important, and then it all builds up and everything can kind of explode at once.

But also, it's something that if you've never experienced it, or haven't really been around it (and empathy isn't a personality strength) it's hard to grasp. But living with depression doesn't mean (at least through my experience) that it's an excuse not to get help. You convince yourself you're not worthy of getting help, but you have to push through, and set up things in place for when you have your lows to try and bring you out of them.

If Dak cant rise above adversity then he shouldnt be cashing paychecks. Skip is 100% correct on this one. NFL players will have zero sympathy or will not follow a QB who is saying he is depressed.

Who said he can't rise above it? I guess we will know shortly. Y'all think Brett Farve was just whistling Dixie when he found out his Father died? He was probably deeply moved by ut but once he got on the field that night he had a game for the ages. Maybe Dak will do the same once he gets on the field.

But acting as if not one player will understand or have sympathy for Dak having recently lost his brother to suicide is a bit narrow minded.

Bayless, Cowherd, SA Smith, Kellerman, Greenberg, etc - loud mouthed twinks.

Clueless on sports, and don't care about athletes. They're like fingernails on a chalk board to me.

Was Dak asking for sympathy or was he just opening up?

Seems like Skip was angling for something that was never an issue to begin with.
