As for the Angels, well, they finished fourth with him, they can finish fourth without him.

My 13 year old daughter hates sports. Couldn’t care less about any of them and she knows who this is.

There’s absolutely no way this makes sense from an investment standpoint. Just getting insane

If you don’t know who ohtani is you have no business posting on a sports board.

It’s certainly a lot of money, but the guys running the Dodgers are really fricking smart. I think they know what they are doing.

Makes you wonder if these owners know something about the value of the dollar that we don't.

That’s an insane number. He didn’t just up the market, he just broke it.

They have an all star team and a city that will pay insane amounts to be part of it.

Is Ohtani playing in 2024?

Wasn't he requiring another Tommy John?

The deal includes: “unprecedented” deferrals - the majority of Ohtani's salary_which was his idea;. He insisted on mitigating the CBT and cash-flow burdens to enable the team to have flexibility in order to be competitive as possible.''

They're gonna be paying 46 year old Ohtani 50 mil a year.

If ANY of that money is deferred to the back end of that contract, the Dodgers will be playing almost $150mil / year (or more) to an ancient Mookie/Freeman, and an over the hill Ohtani.

That farm system better be real god damn deep for the next decade to make this work.
