USF at least is a Tier 1 research university and an AAU member, so technically they are in a club with Cal and Stanford already.
Memphis on the other hand ain’t quite there….but they’re also not Boise State.

The nerds on faculty there probably still care about academic standing but I doubt the actual decision makers are playing that shite anymore.
