Oklahoma makes the Missouri inclusion fit better, the conference seems fairly well laid out still.

Here's a map I found

I don't know if they will go with that grouping, although it could work (although the Gulf Pod of Bama, UGA, Auburn and Fla would be a warzone).

This is all so dumb. College football should be played based upon geography with regional teams. But money rules.

At least Oklahoma and Texas are near the SEC, they just slowly crept more westward. LSU was a founding member and Texas is to the west of Louisiana, Arkansas is to the north, and Oklahoma is right there in the NW of Louisiana almost making a square. Mizzou if anything is kind of the oddest one by geography.

And besides the point it's nowhere near having USC/UCLA and Rutgers in the same conference.

I feel awful for the non revenue sports players who will have to travel coast to coast on random Tuesday’s for games.

Like most of the SEC, outside of GA, Bama, and occasionally LSU and Tenn.

Big12 has fun competitive games. Being a top heavy conference is only good for the top heavies because eyeballs tune-out unless you're a die-hard. SEC parity has been at an all-time decade low and TV numbers are showing it by falling ratings.

Most logical statement in this thread.

I like it other than that, that’s way too stacked and the Mountain pod is a little weak. The names are great, Frontier Pod sounds cool as hell.

Its probably a foregone conclusion that Texas, Oklahoma, A&M, and Arkansas will be in the same pod.

And there is a huge talent discrepancy between Mountain/Gulf.

Pods aren't going to exist, that's already been thrown out. Rumors suggest two permanents and rotate the rest.

2 permanent opponents doesnt work as it leaves 13 orher games over 2 years

It will either be 3 and 6 or 1 and 7. I prefer the 1 and 7 but it most likely will be 3 and 6

You prefer 1 and 7? Wouldn't you want to play Arkansas and Texas or LSU and Texas annually?

I live in Oklahoma (not an OU fan, but have family who are) and honestly I think it's a pretty solid fit. Their fans are SEC caliber fans. Their campus is solid and is pretty poppin on gamedays.

The main way they don't fit is the style of play of the program (IMO), the way they've historically built their teams isn't like the SEC but I'm sure they'll adapt

Why not go with the Meth Pod, Moonshine Pod, Incest Pod, and Hurricane Pod instead? At least the championship trophies would look interesting.

... and Florida, and Auburn; two more teams that have won BCS titles not that long ago.

So basically, like less than half of the SEC.

Of the three rivalries preventing realignment, Auburn Georgia is the most expendable.

Or just put Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee in one pod and let them have fun.

Would probably switch A&M and Arkansas as well.

Or it'll be a 3-1-5 schedule to keep one permanent rival.
