I don't agree that soccer is the pussiest team sport, I love soccer. played it through high school and select, now doing adult league.

from my experiences since playing the sport since I was 8, I think mandating helmets is a bit over reaching.

that sucks for soccer. it's just annoying. i had a teammate who had to wear one after like 4 concussions, though. i got one playing soccer as well as many teammates. still dont really support it.

We should probably start wearing helmets when we drive our car.

That's coming up soon.

Not for girls. Checking is illegal, so there's no need. I don't really have a problem with it, as the throw comes from shoulder level and there is a risk of girls getting hit in the head (boys obviously already wear helmets or else they would die). Field hockey seems a bit silly since the ball is always close to the ground and its illegal to lift the stick above your waist. Where is the head injury risk?

Helmets for all golfers!!

My high school had field hockey. The ball does NOT always stay close to the ground and I've seen many girls take elbows to the face or get smacked in the head with a stick. I saw one girl get hit dead between the eyes with a ball so hard that she had black eyes and a busted nose for about a month.

I disagree. Getting hit by a 95 mile an hour fastball, or getting trucked as someone tries to score a run are much worse than anything happening in soccer. Baseball players for the most part are big, tough dudes. Most soccer players I see are 5'7 140 lb Euro tools.

I'm pretty certain Mathieu Flamini would kick your arse.

And you'd piss yourself if, say, Vincent Kompany stepped up in your grill.

Wow, you really should get out in the world more. Soccer players are some of the most fit ahtletes there are, and most are much larger than you think.

Neither of those things are likely to happen in high school (definitely not the trucking thing since it is illegal).

Baseball was my life all the way through high school, but I never got nearly as injured as I did playing soccer. I've broken my shoulder and nose playing soccer.
