Desty, you should have seen the HHS-DHS soccer matches from last year. Good matches played cleanly but several big collisions on 50-50 balls. We had a few concussions during the season. The girls were even more brutal.

Again, because it's only one school district in NJ, not the entire state.

Why not basketball? There are many elbows to the head and heads hitting the floor during the course of a season. Don't the basketball players deserve the same sort of safety precautions that other athletes deserve? It couldn't be due to the fact that white kids are more likely to play soccer, field hockey and lacrosse than black kids, or that kids who play soccer, field hockey and lacrosse are more likely to be able to afford helmets.

That's why it's the most popular sport on the planet.....and it ain't even close!

it's the most played, because it costs the least. One only needs a ball to play.

It's also the most watched and attended, so it's popularity is due to more than just low cost

Of course it's the most attended. It costs like $2 for season tickets.

Well the low cost results in more people playing. More people playing leads to a larger fan base and more people watching/attending.

I love the "soccer isn't a contact sport" hardasses.

Show some more ignorance, guys. It's very becoming.
