re: Saints working to hire Klint Kubiak as OC, per Schefter

Underhill mentioned earlier this week that it was someone on the SF staff and that we were waiting to finalize the hire until after the SB. He doesn't stick his neck out there until things are as official as possible because he's a real journalist, not a click monger.

My money probably would be on Kafka.
He might impose a massive change, a metamorphosis even, on the franchise.

Because Belichick isn’t going to be interested in being patient with someone like Penix or McCarthy.
You actually think Daniels is more pro ready than Penix? I would say take off the purple and gold glasses but both QBs currently wear purple and gold.

If Belichick comes, I’d put the odds on the Falcons trading a TON of picks for Daniels to be very very high.
They can stay at 8 and still get a good QB. Daniels could even fall to 8.

This coaching change season started slow then went to warp speed.
This went straight from warp to plaid.
re: Chicago Bears fire practically entire offensive staff, HC Matt Eberflus being retained

There's also the possibility that they saw the Saints are trying to have the dumbest off-season so they were like, "oh we can go lower!"

Maybe this is the out Dennis Allen needs.

I’m fine with Sloan promoted. We should bring in an old OC or HC as our tight end coach though that can help guide Sloan and give an elevated title if that’s the case.
There is a relatively local guy who fits that description: Slade Nagle.
re: Tulane caused this?

It seems the proper revenge would be for y'all to hire Slade Nagle away from us.

Not all of the Catholic League schools are down in enrollment.
re: Harbaugh predictions

I predict he'll get a contract extension worth ˜$11M per year.

I just don’t see a guy like Harbaugh liking the new age of college with recruiting 365 days a year and NIL
Harbaugh has been vocally in favor of paying the players.

That and their restrictions in the portal and NIL.

They’ve released renderings of a Sports Ops building to be built behind north end zone and also into north endzone. I do think that’s likely closer to 2025, but they haven’t released timeline
I expect a timeline and more soon.

I don't disagree with them leaning into it. It's just crazy that they likely had a chance to keep the coach of their biggest revenue generator for another 5 years and wouldn't do what they had to.
We couldn't force his daughter to move to New Orleans.
We gave him a low buyout when he signed his extension after the Cotton Bowl. We have begun the infrastructure items that have been lacking. We offered him the same salary Houston gave him.
However, we're not in the P5. We aren't in the city where his daughter lives and where his wife's friends live. There's no shame in that, and I wish him the best.

Huge match, because a win today allows rotation for the next CL match.
