I love the "soccer isn't a contact sport" hardasses.

Show some more ignorance, guys. It's very becoming.

No shite.

My soccer injuries:

2 concussions
Broken nose
Broken orbital socket
Broken cheek bone
14 stitches on right eye brow
Seperated shoulder
MCL tear

All from hard contact. Soccer is much more physical than either basketball or baseball.

I assume most of the stereotypes comes from all the highlights and talk about dives and faking injuries. But you'd think with the recent rise in the same sort of theatrics in basketball and football, that even ignorant non-soccer fans would understand that as soon as athletes realize there's an advantage to be gained from faking a foul or faking an injury, they will do it. Regardless of the sport

I played baseball, basketball, and soccer growing up. By far my worst injuries came from soccer. I only got a few cuts and bruises from sliding in baseball. A few sprained ankle was the worst in basketball. I've gotten a concussion (I think), sprained MCL, messed up my shoulder a bit, etc. playing soccer.

Well the low cost results in more people playing.
Not really that much cheaper than other sports.

If the cause and effect were that simple the US would have a lot more soccer fans
