maybe he was nice and congenial to everybody but the people above him decided he wasn't going to take the program into the NIL Era. Dabo will be next.

You say some absolutely dumbass shite on here lol

I thought it was a troll at first but now I think that’s just who you are.

Aware of that. I've lived an hour from Stillwater most of my life. When people say a college team has a HS field usually its just playful banter but Lewis field prior to the 2003ish renovation really was a HS field.

Their NIL situation is fine. It doesn't compare with most SEC schools but they are easily in the top half of the B12 $$ wise and they have a very loyal fan base. The right coach will have them back in 2 years or less.

They are in 1000x better position than they were when Les Miles and then Gundy took over.

Not really. They're basically in Conference USA now and lack any of the advantages the other Big 12 members have (other than Iowa State). Yeah they have nicer facilities now, but everyone does.

Again, look at their history prior to Les Miles/Gundy. They were an absolute bottom feeder. And like I said their $$ situation is fine compared to their peers in the B12.

The next firing should be Mike Gundy’s barber.

I would imagine okie state wanted him to announce he was stepping down at the end of the season so they could publically start the process of finding a new coach

It appears Gundy said no

So they fired him

i thought the same before the Tulsa game but that team looked defeated

From the way outside looking in, i bet that locker room is toxic, apathic and loathing suiting up the rest of the season.

They had no choice

End of an era but it was long time. The world of CFB passed him by and it’s not gonna get any easier to win there

That ain’t going to cut it. Big 12 is a one bid league. Okie St is in the have nots category of college football in 2025

Never forgive him for being a bitch for not taking up for his team in 2011.

Sam Pittman will be next. He'll get fired next Sunday/Monday after the ND loss.

For them to fire him instead of letting him finish out and retire doesn't come across as anything other than a "Thanks for the memories but go frick yourself" ending to his career.
it's probably closer to a Les Miles situation. They should've fired him at the end of last year when he went 3-9. But they didn't for some reason and now had to do the inevitable.

He must have told somebody important to frick off b/c it doesn't really make sense to have waited to do it today instead Sunday after the Tulsa loss.
I doubt that. The decision was likely made late Sunday or Monday, the AD just needed to get their ducks in a row before pulling the trigger.
