Sacred Heart (VP) at Avoyelles

Was at this game. It wasn’t your typical one.

Sacred heart is down 30-8. Their senior qb who waited three years to start gets out for the game, if not out for the year, type injured.

Another kid on their team has to have the AED used on him to restart his heart. Word is he will be ok. Thank God.

After those long delays, a soph comes in to play qb who didn’t get any live reps since 8th grade and throws 3-4 TDs. Sacred heart wins 48-30.

MC, I know you and I were at the same game last night. Just curious if you are confident in a turnaround happening with a team a lot of people had as a championship contender.
I see the talent, I just don't understand the man-man in back-to-back weeks when it was obvious the WR was going to be a problem. Even when they went to a single high safety later in the game it wasn't to help on that WR and the safety was letting them guys behind him.
I don't see that team beating STM or Barbe as they currently stand, and honestly they may be the 4th best in that district right now despite the hype coming in.
Honestly my biggest concern is how sloppy and just undisciplined the team plays. 3+ turnovers in consecutive weeks, unsportsmanlike penalties on drives when the game was still in the balance. I even watched them line up on the wrong side of the 50 5-times out of 13 kicks.
I fully expect them to get back on track next week as they will be playing a team with a style that plays more to their strengths, but I had them at the top of that district and an actual contender to Ruston in D1NS. I know their first 2 games are against teams with talent and that will very likely be playing into Thanksgiving week, but the sloppiness and lack of discipline concerns me as they still have 3-4 games left where I'd say pick em at best. I don't think anyone had them as a 4-6 or 5-5 team coming into the season.

The talent is there. It just looks like some hardheaded coaching, and sloppiness that I wouldn't expect.

The lining up on the wrong side of the field on almost half the kickoffs blew my mind. The first time I saw it I was like...it happens sometimes. Then it kept happening.

Teams that excel at that style of offense and defense depend on execution and everyone doing their job. Not being able to line up for something correctly is such a simple thing, that I think it says a lot about team discipline and their ability to execute.

That’s true. They might do well in district. It’s still early. They started out slowly last year in week one.

Has nothing to do with Knox, he's running for his life on every single snap. He's made a few bad decisions while scrambling, but he's literally trying to get out of trouble on every pass play. OL is struggling badly (to put it nicely). The 3-5-3 defensive scheme isn't working at all and they had several really bad coverage breakdowns that didn't help either. Coaches are going to have to adjust for the deficiencies or Uhigh will limp into the playoffs at the end of the year with a losing record.

28 out of 36 get in… three district wins probably gets Southside into that 28, and once they are, nothing happening right now matters

I don't think you understand how and AED works,,, It shocks your heart back into a normal rhythm when it's beating too fast... Like in V fib or V Tach...

It's doesn't "re-start" your heart...

I don’t. Out of my scope of practice. Noted. I’ll use reset your heart then.

Restart the breathing maybe. I dunno. They were doing compressions and shite.

What games are streaming out there?

St Charles Catholic v Hahnville kicks off at 7 on Crescent City Sports.

NFHS has some games, to name a few:

Bastrop v Captain Shreve
Lakeshore v Slidell
Alexandria v Union Parish
