PG is an expiring max deal, he is also rehabbing an ACL repair

he will never wear a Celtics uniform, he will be a trade chip for another deal to bring in a second high priced guy

same with the draft picks, the Cs and Trailblazers are both gearing up for their next moves

He has a player option for 56 after next season. They can fill out the "yes, please" paper work for that now.

Watch Lebron take a vet min deal and jump to the fricking Sixers now

Maxey
Edgecomb
Brown
Lebron
Embiid

Much younger than Golden State at least.

I really don't see LeBron staying in the West if he truly "wants to win a title".

This is a bad trade for Boston.
Only potential somewhat saving grace would be if the 2 firsts are unprotected and in the 2030’s.
Still those don’t help a team that’s in win now.

I don't understand Boston's salary thinking. They don't like paying JB, fine, trade him. But the salary swap from JB to Paul George is close to even in salary, except that Paul George is 6 years older, is injured, and will probably never play a game for George.

Heck, Boston should have taken the draft picks and told Sixers to keep George because the salary cap is not worth taking George.

Either Boston thinks sixers will end up injured and shite, or they just pissed away the now.

this is just a bad trade,

This is dumb. NBA GMs might be the worst managers of all major sports.

yeah I messed that all up, I misread his contract

I hate the deal, but I see where it goes

a PG playing on a good team as a second to a great young player. PG has one season to get another bag or he is probably dealt in a salary dump move in his PO year to a shite team and he is probably done. PG knows his role, knows his place and has a chance to get paid one last time

boston moves on, doesnt have an angry outspoken player, doesnt have to deal with his extension demands and fully puts the team in JT’s hands

I hate it but I sort of get it.
obviously the trade market for JB was not good

I think the next contract was the biggest driver. Both would've been like 75 apiece. The problem is it was handled so sloppy by him and them it negated the advantage they should've gotten from selling early.

I love the NBA cycle

"I don't want to pay this guy this much"

"We have to pay this guy this much. It's market rate"

"We have to get rid of him one year later for 1/4 on the dollar"

Holy crap NBA GM's are absolute morons. Maybe Brown threatened he wouldn't sign an extension unless he was traded to the 76ers. Even then it's a shitty trade. If David Stern was still the commish he would veto this trade.
