Whatever person on Jayden’s “team” that told him that this was a good idea should be fired asap. Destroying your own public image in the course of a day over something so goofy is certainly a choice.

Seems like someone on his team or Jayden himself has read the room and put out a statement to cool down the flames a bit.
Seems to imply the issue is between “his team” and LSU. Adds to the speculation this is either an agent or his mom convincing him this is a worthy thing to be upset about.
Both sides should be motivated to come to an agreement to mend the fence and kill the story. I might wait until next year given the current heat but something like enshrining his number in the stadium and doing a game day dedicated to honoring him (can do something similar with burrow as well) or a decal. Jayden can blame the whole thing on bad advice from his team and miscommunications and LSU gets to ensure this isn’t a long term issue with one of its most decorated players.

No doubt. There was zero upside in this whole thing for Daniels. And his number probably wouldn’t be in use right now if BK didn’t promise it to Pickett so at the end of the day this energy is being pointed in the wrong place

His mom teamed up with Antonio Pierce to get ASU in trouble with recruiting violations. She was organizing impermissible visits by recruits, paying for it with her credit card and getting cash from Antonio. It got him banned from college sports for 8 years.

See this kind of attitude is just as ridiculous to me as Jayden’s Cease and Desist was in the first place.
Would that meaningfully hurt LSU in the long run? Probably not. But having Jayden as a piece of history and honoring him is also a great piece for LSU to have and use for recruiting and relationship building. If Daniels wanted to put his feet in the sand about this then they can let him and be fine, but it absolutely behooves them to do something to smooth this over and not have this as a story if he’s willing on his end. Doesn’t mean they’ll have to do anything they wouldn’t have already done
