Whatever person on Jayden’s “team” that told him that this was a good idea should be fired asap. Destroying your own public image in the course of a day over something so goofy is certainly a choice.

Seems like someone on his team or Jayden himself has read the room and put out a statement to cool down the flames a bit.
Seems to imply the issue is between “his team” and LSU. Adds to the speculation this is either an agent or his mom convincing him this is a worthy thing to be upset about.
Both sides should be motivated to come to an agreement to mend the fence and kill the story. I might wait until next year given the current heat but something like enshrining his number in the stadium and doing a game day dedicated to honoring him (can do something similar with burrow as well) or a decal. Jayden can blame the whole thing on bad advice from his team and miscommunications and LSU gets to ensure this isn’t a long term issue with one of its most decorated players.
