That guy gave everything to LSU and Kiffin shows up and shits on it and you guys don't want to hold Kiffin accountable so shite on the guy who stuck by the fans who shite on him for seasons until he won a Heisman.
Blame the coach who promised a number to a recruit. It wasn’t Kiffin. You have weird anger in the wrong direction.

They gain nothing by digging their heels in and would give up nothing by coming up with a way to mend the fence and move past this if both sides are willing. This idea that Jayden would need to grovel to move past this is a childish one.
Nobody is saying LSU needs to make Daniels do anything.
It’s your idea that LSU should do something here to “mend fences” that everyone is universally objecting to. Screw that noise.
Daniels and his family lit the dumpster on fire for no good reason. They need to figure out how to put it out.

You misunderstand me completely. LSU wouldn’t be doing anything at all outside of what they were already going to do.
My point is both sides have an incentive to find a resolution and work together to squash this whole story. I’ve said multiple times this is on Daniels to back down, simply stating that LSU should welcome that and work towards a joint statement/plan to resolve it and end the drama.
Before this happened, LSU was going to honor Jayden and his accomplishments. They still will. Working with him to announce a future event or way to honor him without bending the knee on the jersey number request is a way to move forward without “losing” anything.
The reaction from some on this board think LSU should instead make Jayden pled and beg publicly for forgiveness or some sort of punitive action towards him because their feelings are hurt, which only keeps the story alive and is a net negative for both sides.

Daniels is getting roasted by the Mets now.
There is really no upside for him here.

Everyone is making fun of him.

It’s still not an optimal situation for LSU either. They benefit from having him as a recruiting and marketing tool for the program. Doesn’t mean they can’t live without that, but it’s still a good thing to have and something that keeps them incentivized to not bury their heads in the sand to avoid a resolution (which again would not mean giving into any of the reported demands)

I feel like (and these are just my feelings so take that for what it’s worth) continuing with their plans would be bending the knee.
The dude came out of nowhere with a lawsuit, a ridiculous demand to send him LSU’s copy of the Heisman, all with the implication that LSU did something underhanded.
It was a selfish, douchey move and pretty disruptive right before fall camp. Continuing with plans to honor him implies “it’s all good”, when it clearly is not. That’s dishonest IMO, and the majority of LSU fans have no interest in it.
JD5 completely nuked his relationship with LSU, not the other way around. If LSU acts accordingly, that’s not petty. It’s simply an acknowledgment of the reality he created.

Yeah we just see this differently. Cooler heads should prevail on both sides. Everyone wins in that situation and the story is over.
I think it’s pretty silly and childish to be honestly or realistically expect or want LSU to never honor him at all because of this (unless he continued to make it an issue publicly).

Everyone offers all those things, the ancillaries still matter
Right or wrong some players / parents might be turned off by a long term beef with a former Heisman winner. I guarantee you regardless of the staff he was on, recruits and transfers are being shown the Heisman on tours and talk about how LSU (as a brand, with their facilities and their marketing) got a player to such great heights. They do the same with burrow and cannon and the rest. If it just mattered on the things you outlined, we wouldn’t spend money on facilitates, marketing, branding or any of it. We’d just have a big NIL budget and be working out in a donors backyard

Mate, there are instances when you can say a player is in the wrong. Won’t kill your proletarian credibility.

Yeh LSU has no reason to concede anything. If anything the media is actually giving lsu good press with this supporting Pickett

The wildest part of all this is if this doesn’t die with the current media and backlash, he could definitely find a judge somewhere to grant a TRO. Judge shopping has become an Olympic sport.
