Give back to who? It belongs to LSU and nothing changes that.

Every word of this post puts it perfectly, but this really hits the nail on the head:

quote:

At the end of the day the only person affected by this is his own personal brand and legacy at LSU.

Such a stupid, petty move by a guy that had nothing but good will from the fanbase before this mess.

You don’t win a national title without great teammates… it isn’t Jayden’s fault he didn’t have them

Sorry but thems the breaks.

Had burrow not won a natty and got treated different then Jayden would have more of a leg to stand on. But fans and legacy is absolutely tied to winning titles

At a smaller scale you can look at how reverent the fanbase is for Matt Flynn over Jamarcus despite Jamarcus being the better QB during his time at LSU. Had LSU won in 2006 instead of 2007, Jamarcus would be hailed as a god in Baton Rouge and Matt Flynn would own the best car lot on Airline Highway

Lol have you been watching the WNBA recently or alive the past century? Black women are insane! That is a fact, not an opinion...

Drew Brees didn't cement his legacy by winning a Super Bowl? Would he be viewed the same had the Saints lost to the Colts?

The fact that you are blaming his mom for this is insane. You have zero evidence of this other than you're prob butthurt that one of your fav lsu players would do this so you make excuses for them

Looks like we found race baiting PoS Lord Commanders tigerdroppings account.

Kiffin is doing right by his player and honoring a promise, that was presumably offered by Brian Kelly, who also promised Daniels that he wouldn't issue the number.

I am waiting for it to become a race thing since no one has worn 9 since JB.

That team cemented their legacy in the Super Bowl, but it was year 4 for Drew here. It’s all the yards, TDs, and stats that made him the Saints’ GOAT later in his career (and yes, the near misses when we had the best team)

But that’s 1 Saints Super Bowl in 60 years. The Cubs have one title in like 120. Pelicans are about as far away from a title as you can be.

And think about this. With the records he set and all, if the Saints lose that Super Bowl, Brees would still be the Saints GOAT for getting us there once and to the NFC Championship Game 3 times, along with all the playoff wins

Have you read the last two pages of this thread? It’s happening.

Jayden Daniels just played as recently as 2023. Why does he feel so entitled that LSU needs his blessing to issue his number to another player? It's taken LSU's all-time great players nearly half a century to have their jerseys honored, yet their numbers are still worn. Why should Daniels be treated differently? This new era of athlete entitlement is so exhausting

All of this sums up my opinions exactly.

so his team winning more than any other have a lot to do with his legacy as a Saints QB?

I think there’s a section of this board that wants it to become a race thing so they can bring it into their culture war obsession

The overwhelming opinion by the national media has not been in Jayden favor and outside of a few trolls or one off tweets, the discussion hasn’t been centered around race at all. But there’s a lot of guys here who can only stay interested in a topic if it has some culture war juice to it. They want to make it about race just as bad if not more than the random twitter accounts that are being posted in here

Yeah over time and just being likable and (most importantly) STAYING

But whether he won that Super Bowl or not he was still awesome
