Having a week 0 game might give them a better chance than they otherwise would have but they did not look very good last week.

Miami is just going to dominate them up front. Kind of hard to screw that up.

Generally Cristobal teams usually start the season off on the right foot. His head scratchers usually tend to come later in the season. I think they'll beat Stanford and probably pretty handily, though obviously this is CFB, anything can happen. Being on the road across the country might mean more if it wasn't the first game of the season, like if they had to play at home one week and then travel for a game the following Saturday it might be a bigger factor but having all offseason to get ready for this makes it a moot point.

That stretch in the middle of the season for Miami where they play Clemson -> FSU -> Pitt -> UNC -> Notre Dame -> Duke -> VT, I can easily see them dropping a couple of those randomly. I don't see it for this game though.

They also don't really get the east coast team coming out west advantage that would have if this was midseason.

Yea I don’t know if Stanford wins but it sure doesn’t feel like one Miami wins by 3+ TD’s. Might have a to put a couple clams on the Cardinal now that you mention it.

It’s not like they lost last week. I’d just be surprised if they don’t put up a good fight

You'd be surprised if you watched the movie Titanic and found out the boat sank. Sharp as a cue ball, this one.
