I know he has his ring, but hot damn the team looks shitty this year. They'd be lucky to go 7-9 this season. No offense. No defense. Combine that with the Brees standard of 1 pick a game. He'll get his 4800-5000 yards and ~35 TDs, but the team doesn't look like they goin' anywhere this season.

Him and Brees are both overrated, IMO. Sean Payton's playcalling is predictable based on personnel. And Brees is terrible with turnovers. He's cost the Saints 2 losses this year with INTs.

I used to think he was one of the best coaches in the game but idk what his problem is now, also Drew is getting old and falling off so that doesnt help him any.

He's not that highly rated outside of Louisiana. But yes, he's overrated by Saints fans.

Nationally, he's considered a solid NFL coach, which he is.

Actually they have hAd the best offense in the league this yeAr, but their possessions are way down. Obviously the defense is playing like garbage but that's not all on him.

This ^^

The thread isn't original, but it's the truth. Most Saints fans know it. The past two seasons many have wanted Payton to pass off the play calling duties to Pete Carmichael.

he needs to not be a head coach. he's a good offensive coach, but he's not a good head coach.

I disagree with that. I think he's a good head coach but I think he's overrated as a play caller. He's sucked the last two years, imo.

He's one of the best coaches in the NFL. Period.

He has two problems:

1. He goes full-idiot (being PC here) in his play-calling sometimes

2. He cannot pick a defensive coordinator for shite
