I definitely believe supreme athletes are often over-rated when it comes to high-level players at that position. I’ve had plenty of co-workers tell me Vick was better than Peyton Manning and Brett Favre, citing Vick was much faster and had a cannon for an arm. Easy argument to debunk.

As a QB most certainly.

What else would you be rating him as?

Just last season there were threads and a bunch of posters who thought it was crazy to suggest Lamar was better than Vick, so maybe

Vick also had 6109 career rushing yards at 7.0 ypa and 36 TDs

So no, is not one of the MOST overrated players ever

This is dumb. He was hyped because he was really fricking good at Bama, and capped his freshman season with a NC winning, historic, improbable touchdown, never having started a college football game. He might have been overrated coming out of college entering the draft, but the vast majority of top college QBs are overrated in the draft and don't live up to expectations. Besides, most people aren't hyping him up at the current moment.

Noodle.

Arm.

FYI, my original post is trolling a troll. Don’t take it too seriously, but Tua is not an NFL QB.

If he could’ve found an Andy Reid like 5 years sooner he’d be having a Mahommes type run. That one eagles year was like a tease of what Vick could’ve been if a things went a little differently

One of the most electric and versatile players I’ve ever watched play.

Put a prime Vick on a well ran franchise and this question would never be asked.

The report, dated Aug. 28, 2008, says, "Vick, Peace and Phillips thought it was funny to watch the pit bull dogs belonging to Bad Newz Kennels injure or kill the other dogs."
Michael Vick placed family pet dogs into a ring and his trained pit bulls "caused major injuries" to the pets at Bad Newz Kennels
The report has names and phrases redacted in order to protect the anonymity of certain individuals who cooperated with investigators.
The report also states in mid-April of 2007, Vick, Peace and Phillips hung approximately three dogs who did not perform well in a "rolling session," which indicates the readiness of a dog to fight. According to the report, the three men hung the dogs "by placing a nylon cord over a 2 X 4 that was nailed to two trees located next to the big shed. They also drowned approximately three dogs by putting the dogs' heads in a five gallon bucket of water."

frick that sack of shite!!!

Million dollar arm, million dollar pair of legs, and $2.00 brain and $0.00 soul.
The younger generation only needs to know the facts that he’s a legendary POS, that threw everything away because he couldn’t refrain from financing, operating, and profiting from fighting fricking dogs.

of course he isn't. He was a athlete playing QB who became a average passer late in his career. He was a better passer than Lamar Jackson.

trashy human being. I am in no way a fan of pit bulls especially as pets but if he didn't want the dogs he should have sold them or given them away. Doing what he did to kill these dogs is sadistic. If he was hell bent on killing them he could have just done the human thing and put a bullet in their head.

No one overrates Vick. It's not like he's going to have a bust in Canton like Namath or Swann.

He was as fun to watch as anyone from his era and his jersey sold real well. I've never heard anyone claiming he was a HOF level guy. Probably a lot who thought he might end up there. Who knows what he could have been, but he's admitted he wasn't serious enough about the game off the field.

He was good. Elite speed. Elite arm strength. Below NFL average for everything else.

The rushing element was pretty important to his impact on an offense. Also I don't think anyone is rating him as some top QB of his era or anything. He was just fun as hell to watch

He played in the wrong era under the wrong coach in Mora.

Lamar Jackson just won NFL MVP a couple of years ago. Vick was better than Lamar Jackson.
