I know you're just being a dipshit, but they did make it to 3 straight NLCS and won a World Series.

Wish the Cardinals would have even a yard sale but Moe is too much of a little bitch to part with any of the bargain bin players teams might want.

The only difference is the Cubs killing off their best players, the ones we need to purge do nothing.

It’s amazing how this team was set up to be a perennial contender to being a complete shite show in a four year period.

Agreed. What’s equally amazing is that core still brought success to the organization which hadn’t been seen in over a century…it was a success. Haha

Sad couple of days.

Had to be done, but man.. That was the squad.

I hope they all have success in the future.

I will be very interested in what they do with ticket prices next year. I was none too happy that they kept the prices the same this year as last year.

Things can rebound relatively quickly. I say about 3 years from now you’ll have a good young exciting team that contends to make the playoffs, and the team will ramp up its spending to correspond with that.

It had to all be worth it though right? Hell going in the complete shitter for 15 years it’d still have been worth it.

I mean…. it’s the fricking Cubs man

Did they at least get prospects? Or did they go full Pirates?

Cubs got lots of prospects but how many prospects turn into All Star caliber players?

Best news I heard was Javy said he was open to resigning with the Cubs. Cubs could end up signing Rizzo and Javy back and have the prospects. I'd take that.

Bryse Wilson is one of those guys who might benefit from getting the ball every 5 days without having to worry about being sent back down to AAA if he has one bad inning.

He very badly needs to develop another pitch to stick as a big league starter. Game 4 of the NLCS last year showed you his ceiling.

That's how you get good prospects, and it's exactly what a big market team should have done in this situation.

Went to the Nationals -Cubs game last night. Had been looking forward to it. By the time it arrives, all of my favorite players are gone.

What did we get in return thats worth losing everyone that people identify with?
