The BYU's, Texas Tech's etc. don't have a chance, the talent gap is just too big.

I think you’re significantly underrating Tech. They have been a monster this year and their only loss came with their third string QB.

I think the SEC schools and Oregon would have a shot at Ohio State, but Tech should also be included in that conversation.
They had an incredible week. They currently shoot 73.3 percent from the FT line, which is slightly above average.

They don’t force many turnovers on defense (253rd nationally in turnover percentage), but every shot their opponent takes is challenged so that kind of offsets. They are also average in terms of the number of turnovers they have offensively, which can be cleaned up. Really strong peripheral numbers, but still early in the season.
It definitely could have been different, but it’s not. Their offense scored 12 points (give them 13 with the XP) last night and could have had more. Brady’s play-calling was part of that.

What’s crazy is the hook-and-ladder shouldn’t have worked, but the Texans’ defense played poorly in that situation. Stingley started to go towards Palmer instead of staying outside like he was supposed to. Otherwise, it’s most likely a tackle after about 20 yards which is what normally happens.

Don’t know what Brady’s supposed to do about a game like that

As a Texans fan, Brady miscalled pieces of drives which hurt them. The Texans LB’s can’t defend in space, and the Bills attacked them on the entire first drive and at times during the last two drives by having motion that put a LB in coverage on the motion guy and making quick throws. They had a ton of success with that but didn’t do it for most of the middle portion of the game.

The 4th and 1 HB Draw was the wrong choice because of how the Texans dline was pushing back the oline and expecting run. They could have run play-action and designed a way to get Josh out of the pocket.

Brady is usually really solid, but made some weird decisions last night. The Texans defense is also very good. Both are true.
You must have missed the game last week against the Titans. He’s a serviceable backup for a team with one of the top three defenses in the league, but couldn’t carry a team on offense for an entire season.
Know a guy who coached him when he was 10, was playing up with the 13U teams. Hope he makes it to campus because he’ll be a solid contributor.

That wasn’t a punch.

Looks like he pushed him in the helmet, which happens in every game. Probably with more force than some others, but not sure it rose to a “punch” level.
Just because Van Buren is number two this year doesn’t mean he’s number one in the future. If Nuss goes down, you want to play someone who has college experience because this team is built to make a run in the playoffs. Van Buren has a higher floor than Hurley this year so it makes sense that he’s the number two. That can change in the spring and over next summer.

I can tell you with 100% certainty the original plan was to do the whole stadium in one go and then when the money ran out they revised things to allow an indefinite pause at the halfway completion mark because they had no idea when they'd have the rest of the money.

This is significantly different than the way you phrased the first piece. They might have preferred to do it in one go when they originally talked about it, but they split the project into phases before construction even began to ensure funding was in place for the stadium AND development around the stadium. Your other comment sounded like they started building then just had to stop without a plan. They gave themselves plenty of runway to secure the funds for the second half of the project.
quote:

THey had to stop halfway through because they ran out of money and if I remember right, the total bill to finish the stadium was over $200 million.

This is inaccurate. They always planned for two phases in order to be able to play in the stadium this season. If they had done it all in one phase, it would have taken two full seasons. They got a $25M donation last week from another donor, and only $75M of this is needed since the remainder is funded by bonds from the city of Lawrence and the state.

Booth is a founder of one of the first ever index funds back in the 1970’s. He’s known for being a philanthropist: donated $300M to the University of Chicago in 2008, has an endowment fund for the New York Museum of Modern Art, $10M to the University of Texas in 2018. The guy has pledged to donate over half of his wealth before he passes, and this was essentially his final donation to Kansas. It was a one-time gift that KU can used for the immediate future instead of being stretched out in smaller amounts over 10 years.

That’s what the analytics group at KU and D1 classified it as. That’s part of what makes him so tough to hit.

Typically sits mid-90’s, but like another poster noted, his changeup is his go-to pitch. When he’s rolling, the changeup has a 7” drop vertically but breaks about 12-15” horizontally. It’s nasty.

Kansas fan here, and Moore is the real deal. Was the actual number one pitching in the second spot. Gets ahead in almost every at bat, only gave up five HR’s in 15 starts, struck out 7+ in those starts. Think he would have a lot of success at LSU if he doesn’t sign out of the draft.

I don't think it was expected for him to go this high coming into his freshman year.

He was a top-15 recruit and McDonald’s All-American. He might not have been projected as a lottery pick, but he considered a top 25 prospect before last season.
Has a Boosie walk-up song and was a stud for K-State this year. Great get for LSU!
I really enjoyed it. Think they could have cut it down by a couple of episodes to help move it along a little easier, but overall not going to complain about a generally well-done show.

Get her a Kindle for Mother’s Day/her birthday and let her pick out books that sound good to her. There’s an app called Libby that lets you “rent” books from local libraries and is a good way for her to have a list of books waiting to be read.

If the Cleveland Browns were to cut Deshaun Watson, the cap hit would be $172.3 million in 2025 and $135.4 million in 2026. That number will be $53.7 million in 2027, when Watson won’t be on the team anymore and the Browns won’t be able to restructure his cap hits. Cleveland could shift some of the $81.6 million cap hit in 2026 to 2027.
This was from a Front Office Sports article, but this Over the Cap table shows $167M for pre-June 1st in 2025 and $131M for pre-June 1st in 2026. The $81M number looks similar on both.

re: NFL.com profile on RB Devin Neal

I don’t come on the Saints board much, but want to give you what I’ve seen from Neal the last few as a Kansas fan:

He’s a smart, patient runner. Quick feet and finds ways to make guys miss in tight spaces near the line. Improved pass-catching and pass-protection over the last two years. Always falls forward and is rarely tackled for a loss. Was reliable in short-yardage and goal line situations. Leader on and off the field and represented the university well in every aspect.

Doesn’t have high end speed and makes guys miss more in tighter spaces than in the open field. He can get run down from behind if he finds himself in space, but is good and smart enough to find himself at the second level quite a bit. Rarely fumbles or makes poor decisions.

Overall, he’s a good player who should be able to carve out a spot on the roster and provide a solid, but not spectacular option at RB. Pretty excited that the Saints got him and that he’ll have a chance to impact a team next season.
I think that’s probably the best path. Remove the BCBS insurance once you can, just be prepared that BCBS might come back at some point.

It’s definitely not straightforward. If I didn’t deal with it every day, I’d be lost navigating some stuff. Hope it all works out for you, and congrats on the baby!
