Worst case, he sucks and you do the same thing over again with a better QB class

Just for the record, whatever pick you bid to give up in the Supplemental Draft, you lose the next year. None of these teams should bid their first rounder for 2027, but giving up a 2nd might be worth the risk for some of them.

Kansas got screwed with seeding and getting Arkansas. Missouri State has a solid RPI, but kind of figured they’d be in KU’s regional.
I think if that group gets through one more vote, Ozzy or Rizzo chooses to take her out to get jury points. Then the game devolves into a little more chaos, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how it shakes out.
Bell’s Palsy, elbowed in the face and broke his orbital bone, and now appendicitis. He didn’t do himself any favors with how he treated his body the first 7-8 years in the league, but he’s also had some bad luck.
That’s how I look at it. He pushed himself more towards the end of the year, but didn’t have the same burst that you saw when he was fully confident in his health.

The first half of the BYU game against Dybantsa showed what he can be. I would still take Dybantsa number 1 because of what he showed this year, but Peterson should be the second pick.

getting burned on the last play last night.

He wasn’t the on-ball defender on the last play.

He had a full body cramp in September where all of his muscles tensed up so much they couldn’t even get an IV into him, and it messed with his head. He didn’t push as hard as he could fearing his body would cramp up again. He loves basketball, but college basketball wasn’t as important to him as it was to some other guys.

Now that he’s in full time prep for the NBA, I think you’ll see even more of the dynamic stuff you saw in high school but only got glimpses of this season. At his best, he’s the best player in the draft. The question will be can he sustain that over an 82 game season.
Top five defense in both overall efficiency and turnover rate. Get a lot of easy buckets from those. Shoots really well from 3, a lot of guys that can make buckets

Their Achilles heel is free throw shooting, so if they are up late in a close game it could get dicey.

But why are we hung up on it?

Because he’s kicked or tripped guys 4-5 times this season. If it happened just this one time or maybe one other time, it wouldn’t be a problem. It’s consistently happened over the last month and a half.
Didn’t expect to win tonight anyways with home scoring. Just put up a good away score for seeding.

Is anything actually going to be happening in Kansas?

KU is hosting at least one (maybe more) teams as a training facility. Argentina, England, and Netherlands have requested to be based there, but they probably won’t get all three.

That being said, this would be a dumb use of federal funds if Kansas gets any because of a disaster declaration.

As others have said, Kansas City is a soccer hotbed and the games will probably easily sell out. They have had one of the biggest watch party crowds for World Cup games since 2010 in the P&L District.

Elite 8 run while we haven’t even gotten close to sniffing the NCAAT

In his first season with the old coach’s All-American PG and Keyontae Johnson, a guy who had heart issues with only three schools in the country clearing him to play. He fell backwards into that situation.

Tang and McMahon are comparable with the argument against Tang being he started in a better spot and has had more NIL funding to work with the past three years and whiffed in the portal each time.

Toppin and Anderson are one of the best duos in the country. It’s finding that consistent piece outside of them that could hold them back.

Duke is really good, too. I was just listing teams off the top of my head.

It feels like there’s group of about 10-12 teams that all have a strong shot. That’s before you even get to the madness that happens.

Man, as a Kansas fan I’d love for this to be true. This is a really deep year, though: Arizona, Michigan, Houston, Iowa State, Illinois, Florida, UConn…there are a lot of really good teams this year. It should be a really fun NCAA Tournament.

I'm trying to understand the counter argument of this. Is it just cause he left?

Historically, your college eligibility ends once you declare for the NBA draft. It’s been the player’s decision to forego their collegiate eligibility to make the jump.

The Baylor player started in the G-League and never played a collegiate game. Same with the European players who played professionally (this is also a recent change in terms of eligibility). The NCAA is attempting to safeguard their standards, but legally it’s probably not a viable argument.

Personally, I’d prefer that if a player signed a G-League or NBA contract, they forfeit college eligibility.

K-State also lost in their bowl game that year when teams still tried and cared about them. They were a really good team, but this isn’t a good comparison.
As a Kansas fan, I hated watching this guy at K-State. Super dynamic, they used him out of the backfield or in motion quite a bit. Extremely talented pickup.
He’s still missing. They know he walked into the woods with a gun as they were on the way to his house, but somehow still haven’t found him.
Neither of these guys is going to end up at Syracuse.

The BYU's, Texas Tech's etc. don't have a chance, the talent gap is just too big.

I think you’re significantly underrating Tech. They have been a monster this year and their only loss came with their third string QB.

I think the SEC schools and Oregon would have a shot at Ohio State, but Tech should also be included in that conversation.
They had an incredible week. They currently shoot 73.3 percent from the FT line, which is slightly above average.

They don’t force many turnovers on defense (253rd nationally in turnover percentage), but every shot their opponent takes is challenged so that kind of offsets. They are also average in terms of the number of turnovers they have offensively, which can be cleaned up. Really strong peripheral numbers, but still early in the season.
