re: Rooting against kids/pocket watching

Sanders put himself out there. He wants to work in an industry where fandom plays a big part of how much money you make.
So good comes with bad when you act a fool.
Don’t act like an entitled child and you won’t get laughed at.
I mean what are you upset about OP? Sanders gets the last laugh. He will get paid a few mil to sit the bench for a couple years. More than I’ll get.

re: Baton Rouge I-10/I-12 switch approaching College Dr exit
Posted by extremetigerfanatic on 4/26/25 at 12:15 am
All it did was push the problem down to the people who have to get off at South Acadian. Which includes LSU students.
They should have just made it where college doesn't have an exit that goes north. Theres no good way to fix it. Its just too freaking close to a huge arse interchange.
And now the people coming down 12 have to smush from 3 lanes down to 2 because the retards at DOT didn't create enough space at the new spot where 12 goes under 10.
This entire screwup is just Louisiana retards on parade.

re: Should a team’s worst hitter bat 9th?
Posted by extremetigerfanatic on 4/24/25 at 2:48 pm
If you ask Grok it will tell you analytically that the 7th hitter gets an avg 29 more at-bats than the 9th hitter in a 162 game season. So that’s one extra at bat every 5.5 games.
I feel like you want you better hitter at bat more than your worst.
So in a one game scenario or a 7 game series maybe you try it. But over the long haul I don’t know that you do.
Also, I would think that if the 7th and 9th hitters have a small disparity in avg or if they have a huge disparity would play in.
But if you’re an MLB team why is your 9th hitter so bad. It’s not a high school team with limited options.

re: Men vs women corporate observation

The corporate way now is to reward perceived activity not actual productivity.
So everyone multitasks in a subpar way as opposed to focusing on an few important things and doing them well.
Multiple that over time….
You end up with 10% of the people doing 90% of the work.

The Dow is up 184 from this same date one year ago.
This is all a bunch of media clickbait.
Black Friday dropped the Dow 25%. One year later it was down another 14%.
We will be back over 40,000 by alot in one year.

Y'all ever consider that possibly PH did this on purpose? To find out who the leakers are?
If I was Pete and I wanted to find out if Signal is secure and who I can't trust...this is exactly something I would do with info that is "hot" but not classified.
You float different balloons in different rooms, see what surfaces and then look to see what rooms they came from.
The most interesting part of all of this is the guy himself being fired and then trying to defend himself on Carlson. Dude should be Gitmo.
Anyway, all you pearl clutchers need to shut up. You sound like women.

re: Why are Democrats skyscreaming about RFK Jr?

It’s truth that in less than fifty years instances of autism have gone from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 30. This oddly matches the rise in big pharma.
That isn’t made up and he’s right to put the power of the government to investigate it. One of those Red dyes is literally a byproduct of burning coal.
Autism wasn’t caused by big pharma. But I don’t think it’s a crazy thing to think big pharma exacerbated its effects and spread. I mean something obviously did.
I mean we could have fauci telling us to wear masks and take an untested stab again
RFKJR could literally sit in the office four years and never lift a finger and he would do more good than the last guy.

re: U.S. businesses sue to block Trump tariffs, say trade deficits are not an emergency

So let’s say for example, Crown Royal.
Canadian whiskey maker. Before the recent Trump change, there was a Canadian tariffs on US whiskey.
So in Canada CR were able to sell their product to Canadians at a much lower cost than say Jack Daniels.
They also could continue to ship to the US without a tariff and compete for US customers with Jack Daniel’s with no charges in place.
How does that keep CR from creating wealth again?

So all the countries with tariffs on US products are blocking their own people from creating wealth? On purpose?

You are avoiding the question. It’s a bad look. It’s an immature way to make arguments. Be honest. You are acting like there is causation. Prove it.
And also. Are you stating a countries disposable income comparison to a potential trade partner should be our driving decision making factor?

Are they? Or are they stealing the knowledge of development that is happening in the US and back engineering it into a product?
What is something they invented?
Besides Covid-19.
And I don’t believe that at all. There is a reason that manufacturing is 15% the cost in china. I’d take all the stories of the new entrepreneurial middle class with a grain of salt.

Could be. Are they? Wanna show how?
Btw. You are stating that literally every country that puts tariffs on US goods (which is essentially every country in the world) is doing it wrong to their own detriment.
You are in the wrong field. You’d make millions being an advisor to countries on how to make trade work for them.
Or more likely you might be wrong?

This economic idea stuff really needs a separate thread and not clogging up a Trump tariff argument.
And I mean that positively. I’d like to read a back and forth on it. It’s just buried where it shouldn’t be.

Yet the tariffs benefit large corporations and harm small business.
You sure? I have the same amount of money to spend today as I did last year. Is there going to be a big difference in my costs this year? Maybe. Maybe I buy US.
You and others point to cheap goods. I think that’s a red herring. People are willing to pay more to buy American. People that voted Trump aren’t scared that the next pair of jordans will be $500. They are worried their grandchildren won’t have jobs and will have a bankrupt country. That’s what trump sold people on. The idea of America First. Jobs. Manufacturing. Removing waste. Getting rid of the illegals siphoning our tax dollars.
What we have been doing is what only benefits rich people. The Dow increased by 280% since 2008. The national debt went up 267%. But GDP only went up 110%. Wages did even worse.
None of this recent increase is real. It’s a big Ponzi scheme.
I don’t know if Trump moves the needle. We might be too far gone. But I’m willing to let him cook. Even if I pay more for a little while. (I don’t think it will be bad) And if that pisses off other countries so be it. I don’t care.
Bitching about tariffs is so weird. If they are so bad, why does every single country in the world use them? Apparently tariffs on American liquor are fricking killing crown royal somehow.

Trump's messaging on tariffs isn't good. He Neds to get some skins on the wall regarding a trade deal and quickly.
Why does he need to put skins on the wall though?
I disagree with you. I don’t think any people owning and or running large corporations really wanted him. They all went Harris. They just want the status quo.
The regular man is who voted for trump. I think this can play out. At least for 8-10 months. Immigration is the more visible item to his voters. And I’m down with the deportation of all the illegal people voting.
