Im fine with the trades...my problem with everything is if we want to take our lumps and give the young guys a chance and develop this thing the right way then great. But for the love of all things holy get Heyward and Ian Happ off the major league field and see if someone else pops that you can build with.

We know what Heyward and Happ are. They've had multiple years of suck and have done nothing to show they are worthy of a spot on a MLB roster. Take it on the chin with Heyward and DFA his arse. Send Ian down to try to regain an inkling of confidence. Hes out before he even steps in the box. Completely lost mentally and it shows.

I love J-Hey - good character guy and teammate, but he's been an albatross around this teams neck Re: hitting - grounder to the pull side 50% of his plate appearances.

And for the first time this year his defensive numbers are slipping. Once the best right fielder in baseball - I don't think he's top-5 even anymore.

Right field is the easiest position to play. People keep saying this like it’s something of note, who the frick cares? I’ve never understood this. There’s probably 25 center fielders that are better then him for example.

I can’t believe the Cubs traded everyone, imo they should have kept 1-2 of those guys but they have all underperformed.

Imo they should have gotten rid of Heyward and just ate his contract. He has no future so just move on. He offers nothing. Do that first and figure out the rest.

Left field is the easiest position to play but the rest of your points stand.

Right field requires a strong arm for the throw to third base. Most balls hit by right handers to right field are slicing and harder to field. It's not Little League where you put the worst player out there because the ball rarely gets hit that direction.

I would agree a bit, but he used to get some good jumps and save runs - that's always important in my book - but not as much anymore.

They did underperform, IMHO all of them - and it pains me to say cause I love all those guys but it's true. There was some rationalization of it but you can only accept so much.

I mean we all have our favorites, mine was Rizzo. From 2014-2019 you could pencil in .280/30/100 give or take a bit. But he wasn't gonna approach that this year. The KB fan boys would say "well when he's healthy he rakes." Not so sure I agree there (See June this year) - but if it is true he's hurt too much - which is a whole nother issue but a legit one with him.

I love the dude - great guys and teammate, but can you really keep running him out there even as a platoon - salary damn - eat your mistake.
