I picked the NY Giants in the 1985 season. They ended up winning the Super Bowl next year and I've been a fan of them since. I didn't like the Saints because I had a crazy uncle that I didn't get along with that lived and breathed New Orleans football. He would legit throw temper tantrums when they would lose a preseason game. I do root for them at times now.

Born and raised in the Mobile TV market, so I guess my local team was the Saints...they were on every week.
If you remember watching the Saints in the 80's as an impressionable pre-teen and young teen, you'd understand why I'm not really a fan.

A lot of Duke and Georgetown gear too around Baton Rouge at that time. Those were the hot basketball teams at that time.

Probably has more to do with the fact that a lot of us grew up with the “aints”.
I don’t really remember anyone actively hating the Saints, I think it was more about them being awful and irrelevant.

I loved Bobby Hebert but honestly after he left and before Brees, the Saints really had no franchise QB.

That was it for me with Brees, the Saints,and the entire NFL at that very moment. As a kid growing up I loved some Cowboys but became a Saints fan in high school in the late 80's. Pretty much stayed a Saints fan ever since, even after I moved to Houston in 95 when the Oilers were still here and the Texans just felt fake to me. 2009 was glorious. Never in a million years did I ever think the cursed arse Saints would ever get to a SB, much less win it. Brees was on a pedestal for me until he went woke. Now he is borderline dead to me although think I am coming back around after hearing his HOF speech.
I have become a Texans fan now since Demeco is here. He is one of my all time favorite Bama players and loved seeing him get the job. Also really like Will so hard not to root for the home team now as a Bama fan.

I've ived in the Nashville metro area since 2015 and I'm not a fan of any of their teams because I didn't grow up in this part of the state. The Titans also suck and have for most of their existence, so it's easy to not pay them any attention. The Preds I couldn't care less about because I couldn't care less about the sport of hockey, in general. Memphis (where I'm from) and Nashville have also always had a weird relationship with one another, people from both places talk shite about the other city. The NFL slighting Memphis for an NFL team in the 90s (Jags/Panthers expansion) only to have the Oilers relocate to Nashville shortly thereafter didn't help either.
I was a big follower of the Grizzlies until the bubble season and BLM bullshite, among other things, ruined the NBA for me.

Typical Cowboys fan in Bossier.
Most people up here use the "Dallas is closer than New Orleans excuse." Doesn't really work because most people aren't going to games anyway. I'm a Cowboys fan because when I was a kid the Cowboys were the team showed on TV. I don't remember seeing a Saints game on TV until I was in high school and even then it was rare until the y won the Super Bowl.
I don't like being a Cowboys fan in LA, but it is what it is, it's too late to change now. I'll get my Louisiana sports misery with the Pelicans.

I stopped caring after 2019 when the saints got shafted…. Then Gayle proved she was the absolute worst owner in the league by keeping Loomis around…..
But all in all the NFL is a very hard to like product in all facets. I spend Sundays doing stuff around the house.

In both the NFL and college, who I favor can change week to week depending on which players or coaches I prefer or what scenarios will stir up the most shite.

I quit on the Saints after the report came out about Gayle and Loomis using Saints PR/Resources to help her buddy Archbishop Aymond soften the blow of him/the Church protecting pedophile priests.

I’ve been a lifelong Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. My aunt moved to Tampa in 1962, and my cousins grew up there and they became fans of all the professional Tampa Bay teams. When we were kids, we would visit them and go to Buccaneers games at the old Sombrero.
Outside of the NFL, I’m also a Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Cavaliers fan.

I grew up in Pittsburgh but my favorite team is the Commanders. When I first started watching football in late-82, the Steelers were at the end of their dominant run and the Redskins were the top team. I became a Skins fan and never looked back.
