If you aren't a fan of your local NFL team, who is it and why?

Raised a Saints fan in Texas because my entire family on my dad’s side is from LA and I spent my summers with my dad growing up.
Houston would have been the local team but I was 15 when the oilers left.

Grew up in small town outside of BR to an LSU grad father who was obsessed with LSU sports but didn’t really watch the nfl and hated New Orleans as a city with a passion
Growing up we barely watched any nfl. My uncle moved to Rochester in the 80s to work for Kodak so we would go up there and attend a bills games with my cousins who grew up bills fanatics
When I graduated colleges I married a Nola girl so I tried to cheer for the saints but my heart wasn’t in it as I also hate the city of Nola (I do really like drew Brees)
Gave being a bills chance a shot and it fits. It feels like LSU football moreso than nfl football. Really enjoy every game I have gone to there and the area

That was the final straw. I hate the city of Nola with every ounce of my being and always have
When they hung drew out to dry it was very easy to say frick them forever and never look back
To be fair I likely would have not given a shite about the saints once Brees retired even without that fiasco

Some of it goes back to BR feeling shafted by Nola for funds I’m sure which was passed down generations.
But I’m not lying when I say I don’t ever recall once seeing a saints flag, or bumper sticker, or kids wearing saints gear etc etc growing up in the BR area

I had been a diehard since 1980. When Brees' teammates publicly shite all over him in 2020 over whatever horrible and offensive and hurtful thing he said, I easily turned the switch off. Michael Thomas being a raging unlikeable a-hole helped make it easy, too.
As for the city, I also think of it as a shite-hole that I choose not to be a part of. And while I do have plenty of friends from the area, I generally don't care much for the trashy NOLA element, especially the ones that show up to the games.
I am actually rooting for the current team, but not with near the passion that I used to. This seems like likeable bunch and the roster has basically turned over from 2020 at this point, so I am giving them a shot again.

The array of fans you find around SC is pretty astounding. I know of more Eagles, Steelers, Bills, and Cowboys fans more than anything.
Good spattering of Giants and Commanders fans too. And I wouldn’t call these older people… they would’ve been alive when the Panthers were created. Some of it is transplants but many are people I know are from here too.

No one wore LSU gear in BR in the early to mid 90’s. It was all Miami and FSU.

I pull for the Bills also because my wife and all my in-laws are from Niagara Falls. Huge bills fans. Kicking around going to see them play the Packers this year.

Panthers are the local team. They came on the scene in the 90s.
I follow the 49ers due to "the catch", everybody growing up loved the cowboys and redskins in my area....I loathed both. The falcons were and still are an afterthought

Growing up the RedSkins would have been my favorite, except our TV reception was terrible. Way before other feeds were available.
Then the Oilers were so easy to love when I worked in Houston. The move to Tennessee wore that affection down, with games played in Memphis, then they lost their name, their spirit and just everything.

Fan of tampa bay buccaneers since a young in, we would go to see grand parents for vacations and when we weren't old enough for school and came down in September and October, grandpa would take us to. Tampa bay buccaneers games.

Someone was not in Baton Rouge in the early to mid 90’s. All you would see at Cortana Mall and around town was Miami and FSU gear.

Seahawks.
I'm from Mississippi, and no one in my family rooted for the Saints because of what they did to Archie.
Then I received Game Day 97 on the Playstation One for Christmas, and I thought the Seahawks looked and sounded cool. Been following them ever since.
