I don't think he's leaving Clemson for anything other than the National Football League.

Depends on how badly he wants his statue next to Bear Bryant’s.

I used to think so, but not anymore.

He's created his own kingdom at Clemson and is a living legend there. Why would he go follow another legend at Alabama and always be trying to live up to him?

He's got it made for life now.

agreed

also just based on what we know about his personality, i don't know if leaving Clemson to try to maintain Alabama fits with that. in fact, that's literally the opposite of his mindset/world view

Many of us dont know what it means to be a Letterman at a major D1 college. Especially Bama. That and more dough might transcend his legacy at Clemson.

I agree about the ACC being super easy tho. That's a great point.

He can be a lifer at Clemson now, plus the ACC is a lot easier road to the playoffs than through the SEC

seems as if the majority of the LSU fan base wants him to stay at Clemson so bad that they've convinced themselves that he doesn't wanna be in saban's shadow

I used to think so but Clemson has a cupcake schedule and easy path to the playoffs in the ACC. Why sign up now to go through the crushing SEC West and then have to face UGA or UF in the SECCG

don't discount the possibility that he might want a new challenge one day...

I do not think he is a lifer in Clemson...Clemson is so small of a town, at only about 16,000.. (10,000 less than Starkville)... I could see Dabo wanting to make a move to a bigger city at some point, but I am thinking NFL

Jesus is enough.

He's got it going on.
He doesn't need Bama.

After saban, someone else, "guy2".
Then after guy2 loses to tamu and LSU year after year, dabo comes home to restore the sheen.

I said it in the game thread but I’ll say it again. Alabama offers financial compensation that most likely can’t be matched by Clemson. Turning down 15-20 million a year at your alma mater is hard to do. Especially when it’s alabama.

I used to think he would go to Bama, but I think he'll stay at Clemson until he retires. Don't see him leaving.

Everyone has a price. Don't know what that is for Dabo.

No way. He's literally built what Bama has by himself at Clemson. Why go ride the coat tails of what someone else built when you have toppled that legend?

Do people really think Clemson won't match any offer?

Unless they are being run by Alleva level morons they understand his program has turned into something worth paying the premium price.

If he wants a new challenge I guess he could go to the NFL- but at Clemson he could leave behind a legacy like Osborne, Bowden, and Bryant. Going to Alabama puts him in the position of having to put up with all of the institutional officials who won championships before he arrived with a different (highly valued and successful) process.

why would he want to put up with the expectations, boosters, and fanbase of Alabama...

he can set himself up to be greater than Nick or the Bear at Clemson...

No he is creating a pretty good name for himself at Clemson. Sometimes money does strange things to people though.

What? They pay saban pretty close to that now with all the other frills the public isn’t aware of
