re: Can a head coach be demoted and not fired to avoid a buyout situation? - bayoujd
Simple answer: it depends on what the contract says. Typically, a contract would not permit that unless he is demoted for cause (having breached a specific provision of the contract). But contracts can be negotiated by the parties in any number of ways....

re: How many coaches turn down Tenn before the fans revolt to hire schiano? - bayoujd

Now that there is science showing that certain launch angles (15 degrees - 30 degrees upwards) and a slight uppercut swing result in more offensive production, a lot of hitters are altering their approach to mechanics. Josh Donaldson is a prime example. Kris Bryant as well. Ted Williams always ...

re: Why have HRs shot up recently? - bayoujd
More pro hitters are trying to hit the ball in the air, and bucking conventional wisdom that you should swing slightly down at the ball. And they are seeing much better results. Daniel Murphy is a good example....

re: The New York Times releases a hit piece against FSU - bayoujd
Every school has goofy majors. But it's simply not accurate to claim that all schools have majors set up and designed specifically for the athletes. Most state schools with top football programs do this. The top private schools do not. ...
