Conferences are too big currently and need to be shrunk or just abolished altogether. Winning a conference is meaningless if you don’t play all of the teams or substantially all.

Add an OL through free agency.

We need to draft a playmaker - either RB or WR, or an edge rusher.
Agreed! I never understood why fans would actually pull for their closest rivals.
The top college football programs should break off and go independent. Form their own league and play each other. Conferences only serve to benefit the bottom feeder programs and subsidize them with money that they cannot earn through their own success. It’s a socialist structure. I am befuddled why people love it so much.
It was obvious to anyone who watched that they were terrible at the end of the year.

They got in because of their name. Plus the head of the committee’s school stood to benefit by Alabama’s inclusion

Conferences in college sports are fundamentally flawed and need to be abandoned. I will never understand why the top programs are willing to share revenue that they produce with bottom feeder programs. Sure, the crappy football programs love them because they collect money without doing anything.

But they won their (garbage) mega conference!

But they played in a mega conference and won it!

Kind of a long trip for Oregon. Plus, how do fans determine which game to go to? Do you go to an early playoff game or do you save your money and try to make a later playoff game? It’s not feasible to make them all.
Good thing they are in a mega conference. That will weed out the overrated teams!

These teams look awful today

Lanning’s shirt selection today is not a great look.
That’s how most championships are won. Normally the hottest team at the end of the year will win at all.
They both should have made it. They were both playing excellent football down the stretch. Anyone who watched their games could see that.
When I have watched Williams, he doesn’t seem to have great ball skills.
Obviously, Alabama got in on their name. They proved they can lose 3 games, get their doors blown off in the last game, and still make it. Notre Dame can’t lose more than 1.

Too early to make this statement. Plenty of time for Ryan Day to screw it up as well.

Yeah! These mega conferences are so tough with all of these mid and bottom feeder programs. Have you checked the SEC’s garbage bowl record?
As an LSU fan, I don't pull for other SEC teams. I don't get the concept of pulling for your rivals.

So I am glad to see them struggle. Hoping Bama gets blown out as well. And the SEC is not all that special. Mega conferences have all kinds of bottom feeders and mid programs.
Are you guys really this dense and obtuse? Brian Kelly made out ND’s schedules as far as 2026-27. Does it surprise you that beta Kelly avoided tough competition?

Freeman, needless to say, appears to have a different outlook. Auburn, Texas and Arkansas in 2028. Plus Clemson and Miami. Looks like they also have Alabama in 2029
