Some of you clearly don't understand the pull UA has on bama people.

Honestly I'm not sure

There is something satisfying to the ego to take your Alma mater to a championship

He might do it just for the challenge

seems as if the majority of the LSU fan base wants him to stay at Clemson so bad that they've convinced themselves that he doesn't wanna be in saban's shadow

just like they convinced themselves that we had a shot against Bama in Tiger Stadium last year

This is absurd.

Bama will hire an elite head coach after Saban regardless.

We just see what Dabo has created and the situation he's currently in at Clemson. He walks on water in that city and has entrenched that program in his "culture".

He'd be foolish to leave for Alabama.

You never know. I didnt think Roy Williams would leave Kansas to coach UNC. This seems like a similar situation.

No

The similar situation is Coach K

Kansas was a monster before Roy Williams

Dabo and Coach K literally built their programs.

Depends, will the Clemson donors and to an extent the state of SC pony up enough money keep Dabo if Bama makes a hard push at him?

Will the ACC shelter Clemson as the SEC does Bama?

We Notre Dame fans told everyone the same thing about Urban and Midwestern Catholics with strong ties to Notre Dame.

Urban would have came but ND administration didn't want to bend on the academic restrictions

The guy is going to go down as the greatest Clemson coach in history

That’s a better legacy than being the coach that failed to match the success of Saban at Alabama

He was never coming. He had a verbal agreement with Florida six weeks before we even fired Willingham and only took Jenkins' and White's meeting out of respect.

Alabama will be on top when Saban retires.

UNC was a hot mess after Guthridge and Doherty

Correct. He's got a job for life at Clemson currently. Fail to match Saban's ridiculous pace? They'll turn on you quickly.

I get the draw of your alma mater...but I just don't see him doing it.

I think loyalty as an emotion or trend has faded in this country over the past 40 Years anyway. People aren't loyal to companies, companies aren't loyal to people, pro teams aren't loyal to players, etc etc. We've seen too many colleges sign a long-term contract and fire coach, we've seen too many coaches sign a long-term contract and leave to go to another school. Loyalty just isn't there anymore.

This is such a weird take when it comes to Dabo

Why are you laughing?

It speaks specifically to loyalty to a school that you attended 30 years ago versus loyalty to the school where you have been now and have established a family thing. But more than that it just speaks to loyalty in general. He has only lost two assistant coaches in the past four years, so the thing he has there is unique.

I am laughing because I don’t know what Dabo has to do with the potential decline in loyalty in our society

Dabo would be a fool to follow Saban at Bama. He’s got it made at Clemson, and unless he immediately ripped offf 3 or 4 national championships at Bama, he would be seen as a failure.

Now, when the schmuck that DOES follow Saban inevitably crashes and burns, then Dabo might be interested.

It so much easier to win at Clemson

Biggest reason he would stay

Looking at their schedule next year is laughable
