It wasn't malicious. But he passed the ball a bit hard in close distance while the ref wasn't even ready.

I don't have an opinion on whether or not it was right for him to be ejected, but I can understand why it happened.

Because as an athlete you do what’s easiest to make the play a success. It’s called throwing a catchable ball/pass. If a receiver is 5 yards away, I’m not about to throw the ball 100 mph to the guy. A simple bounce pass or a pass with some arc on it would do. You don’t do a chess pass as hard as you can to a woman in the situation.

Like I said, go try it with your wife and let us know how it goes.

I tried it with your wife and she handled both balls with a quickness.

Didn't even dribble.

I’m not a woman and I’ve said multiple times my issue is with him doing it to a woman. It’s not my problem you can’t read.

If she has a huge problem with a basketball coming her way then she shouldn't be a referee in basketball. Good God what the frick has happened to people

The endless amounts of “are you okay” from everyone was fricking pathetic. Like that just traumatized her. NBA is the softest league in the world.

To be fair, this may be the most exciting moment of the NBA regular season

Eeeeeeeven if that's the case...no need to throw him out.

Yeah, worst case scenario, it’s just sort of a slightly dumb ‘in the moment’ kind of act.

Ejectable offense? Get the frick out!

The dude had no reason to do that bullshite. But it’s pretty obvious why you people are defending it. A simple bounce pass would suffice. No reason to throw a pass like that to a woman. Like I said unless the dude has never played the sport before would be the only reason I would excuse that.

You know what’s funny and sad at the same time?

You probably believe you’re being a supportive ally of women in general but in reality, you’re being patronizing.

She has played this sport, dude. Likely at a higher level of proficiency than you or I ever did. Many refs have, so yes, I’d expect anyone who’s job it is to be on an NBA court during live play to not get harmed by a basketball thrown his or her way.

NBA players are bitches. Then you add a female bitch to the equation, this is what you get.

The game isn't worth watching anymore.

I'm absolutely shocked people are giving this guy even the slightest grief

She's a ref in an NBA game, bodies and basketball flying around is part of the deal, some old dude flings the ball at her, does no damage, is far less exposure than she has on any given play - how about a chuckle and a "take it easy killer"?

the NBA has become such a bullshite league.

I mean if the fan had thrown the ball, then okay.

or said something over the top at any point.

Glad penis head Silver is in charge. Fans need a day off to vote.

Why are so many in here acting like this was just a normal pass in that situation? That would be too hard of a pass from one NBA player to another on the court from that distance, much less from a fan to a ref between plays.

Everybody on the court saw immediately how ridiculous it was. If anybody threw the ball back at you like that you’d be like wtf is your problem. Luckily she got a hand up to swat at it because if not it would have hit her and look even worse.

Reason # 850,432 why women should NEVER EVER EVER be involved in refereeing or officiating MENS sports.

I'm done with this bullshite feminist, women's empowerment movement.

When are we going to say enough is enough of this weak shite?

We have become the softest participation trophy society on plant earth.
