I've come to the point that outlawing all prop bets would go a long way in solving most of the modern sports betting problems.
It won't happen, though, because most leagues/products are propped up by sports betting site money now. Hell, ESPN ran it's own betting service for a while......oh, I mean......it "partnerned with" a betting service.

I mean this as nicely as possible...but if you don't understand on your own I don't think you're bright enough to have it explained to you.
OP's vote counts the same as everyone else's smh

This would definitely help. Unfortunately the gambling sites make way too much money suckering people into prop bet parlays that make them a lot of money, so they'll never voluntarily do this.
Louisiana banned prop bets on college sports a few years back. I think it would have to be done state by state by each state's gaming commission.

They are already rigging games. The players should be allowed to get in on it too. The people pulling the strings hate competition and never want to pay the players for the same things they are doing. It is hilarious to watch fans now who really and truly believe everything they are watching is on the up and up.
Found the moon landing denier ITT.

So he had inside info about players on the team playing through injuries or what the game plan was each week, which gives him insider info when making bets....especially prop bets on individual player stats.
Like hey, coach saw some stuff on film that he thinks we have favorable matchups to exploit so the game plan is going to be pass heavy this week. Time to bet the over on passing yards and/or under for rushing yards.

Amazing that Tulane basketball would never have gotten the death penalty under today's new gambling standards.

Because Americans love to gamble and they love sports...and they love to gamble on sports...
In 2025, Americans legally wagered $166.94 billion on sports.
And that industry can't thrive if the public has any doubts or lacks confidence in the wagers.
Otherwise, you might as well plunk down money on WWE "Storyline betting" and live in the fake reality we're already slouching towards.

So imagine he throws a pick six up by 14 w/5 min left to get an over did he do it on purpose? I dont know, but I do know he bet on his own team before he can do it again.
The insight he has maybe the center is hurt and it is sandbagging mor the Dc's not at practice because his kid just got diagnosed ect. This guy did the one thing you absolutely cant do as a player and some spineless count of a judge was cool with it.
This is my outrage frick tech for sticking up for him.

Is it the old guard threatened by new blood?
It could be that. Or it could be that it opens the door for every player in the NCAA to bet on the games they participate in, putting into question the legitimacy of every outcome in every sport in college athletics.

I think the conferences and CFP can throw enough at Tech to make them tap out.
I know it won’t happen, but what I would love to see, and what would be exactly what Texas Tech deserves, is for every team on their schedule to quietly refuse to play them and forfeit.
Let them go 12-0 without playing a single game and that degenerate gambler at QB has zero stats.

He also placed bets while at Cincinnati and Texas Tech, on Cincinnati football and Texas Texas basketball.

I find it odd this is the issue where randos like Georgia and Nebraska are going to such lengths to shun them either.
Is it some moral outrage? Why this and why now?
If you have to question why an athlete sports betting, especially betting on games he was wearing a uniform, is extremely wrong and troubling then there is ZERO hope for you.
If he wanted to gamble his money he could have played poker, black jack, craps, slots, etc.

My outrage is a local judge having the ability to override the NCAA when certain players break the rules. It's absurd and most of them have bias built in.

Would you watch a sport whose games are known to be rigged? This is why they don't want this shite. Destroys the product.

I don't know if he can really be trusted without wondering in the back of your mind whether he bet on his team or not

If tweet fails to load, click here. So much the “only big schools care” talking point OP tried to push when even ADs at schools such as Colorado, UCF, Kansas St., etc are not ok with this

You don't understand why courts effectively legalizing points shaving is being met with swift, negativity from peers?
Was point shaving even one of the allegations?

Will be interesting to see the fallout from this since tech has been pretty open about aggressively suing the Big 12 if they decide to make any kind of punishments towards tech
