Can't imagine seeing that cartoonish stuff and wanting someone fired like the tweets suggest.

@espn We're waiting for your apology for the Civil War graphic and use of the Confederate anthem "Dixie." Inaccurate + tone deaf.

I just cant relate to this.

How pathetic is your life? You've been so wronged by a song on TV and things just won't be right until the Network issues a blanket apology.

"MY OPINIONS MATTER!"

They made that because of the Captain Andrew Luck parody twitter account. It wasn't completely random.

LINK

Surprised no one here's mentioned that yet.

I blame the people who apologize to the perpetually outraged.

A simple response to someone who is "offended" by something in which no offense was intended is a simple "I don't really give a shite." That same person who was so offended will be watching ESPN tomorrow.

I think people need to lighten up. Such a silly thing to get mad over.

I think the only reason people bitch about it now is because they have an outlet to do it and they know they could get a response to it and get them to apologize.

10 years ago people wouldn't even give it 2 seconds of thought. If someone was really a nutball, they would have to email ESPN about it. And most likely ESPN would just brush it off and wouldn't say anything about it. But now it's so easy to fire off a tweet, and it's public and can gain momentum and a company like ESPN feels compelled to apologize to these morons for PR purposes.

I'm starting to rant a little, but I think social media is one of the worst things to happen to society in my 30 year lifetime.

With blue pants? Not familiar with that Confederate garb. Whoever did the graphic obviously wasn't much of a historian. They probably played Dixie because it has a nice oldish march tune to it. Cadets at West Point also where grey. Anyone seriously offended by this is a goddamn phony or is looking to be offended.

It was meant to be humorous and lighthearted yet these twitter schmucks are pretending like ESPN is some neo-Confederate promoter now. Lmao

I was very confused by the choice of graphics they used for that segment.
