He still has value, an estate, loved ones, etc.

So yes, it can still be bad for him in many ways

Clown take imo it's not a great way to go. Family and friends suffer more given these circumstances.

I read they did not find a car belonging to him in the area. I assume that includes rentals?

Could be wrong, but it is starting to sound like he was possibly impaired. I wonder why we even got some sort of ran out of gas or he was involved in a car wreck story to begin with? Should probably still wait on more details to come out.

The guy is dead. His death was sudden, tragic and hopefully quick. His family and friends will not suffer more because of the details.

Swift work there Sherlock. You mean to tell me a guy getting hit by something as big as a dump truck, 6 minutes after others saw him walking ON INTERSTATE, has tipped you off that possibly he was impaired?

Fantastic detective work! Truly a gift

Guy was whacked out of his normal mind absolutely.

His girlfriend was super worried about him after their phone call and he was walking in and out of the lanes of traffic before he got hit.

Im not speculating, just stating what has been reported.

Maybe he with a woman and pissed her off so bad she threw him out the car. I got thrown out at Airline and Coursey once by a crazy female. Several different things could have led him to the side of the interstate at 5 a.m.

Have any reports ever included finding his car out of gas nearby? There was another 911 call that mentioned someone weaving in and out of traffic lanes about 5 minutes before calls came in about accident.

What he told his wife may be true or may be just be giving her a reason why he was walking along highway as she could track phone or car, but if a car was found that was out of gas and maybe a gas can (if on way back with gas as wife said in call) it would make it seem more like he was being truthful about situation. Also thinking there might be evidence of the purchase of gas. Still would not clear up why he was seen minutes earlier walking in and out of right lane before being hit in center lane with multiple cars approaching that had "no contributing action", and while I don’t know exact spot of accident or line of sight from his POV crossing an Interstate just seems like an extremely dumb thing to do if truly just about filling car with gas.

If found I can see gas can and car being out of gas being held until final report along maybe proof of where gas was purchased if not based on eye witnesses who would have leaked it by now, but I am not sure why there wasn’t anything about his car being found and towed soon after the accident as that seems more likely to have been noticed. Maybe I missed car being found as story quieted down after cops said they would not release anything else until investigation was final until wife’s 911 call released.

quote:

"I'm calling because my husband is stuck on the side of the highway. He had to go walk and get gas, and then he said he was returning to the car on the highway," a woman who said she was his wife, Kalabrya Haskins, told an emergency operator. "We were on the phone, he said he was going to call me back after he finished putting the gas in.

quote:

Haskins was struck by the front left side of a dump truck driving in the center lane of a three-lane highway, according to the crash report. Haskins then came to rest lying prone in the inside lane, the report states. The driver of a vehicle in that lane veered left to try to avoid hitting him, but the right side tires or undercarriage partially contacted Haskins, the report states.

The two vehicles then came to a controlled stop on the side of the road, the report states.

The drivers were not distracted at the time and they had "no contributing action" at the time of the crash, according to the report.

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/04/20/us/dwayne-haskins-death-911/index.html

The below 911 call comes closer to matching the earlier witness who called several minutes before accident after seeing him oddly walking in and out of right lane and not someone who just badly misjudge when to cross.

quote:

"Oh my God. What the f— is wrong with you? Get the f— out of the road!" the woman could be heard shouting on the 911 call.

"I’m sorry ma’am I was trying to hear you and I’m in the middle of the 95," the woman tearfully told dispatch. "There was a man hit in front of me. I was traveling on the road and I saw a dump truck hit the man."

Medical examiner reports released today:

quote:

Dwayne Haskins, the NFL quarterback hit and killed while walking on a South Florida highway, had been out at a club drinking “heavily” and had a significant amount of alcohol in his blood, according to medical examiner reports released on Monday.

quote:

According to the toxicology report, Haskins’ two samples tested positive for alcohol, his blood at .20, another fluid level at .24. The legal blood alcohol content limit in Florida is .08.

quote:

According to an ME’s investigative report, investigators found his car on the side of I-595, a “female companion” inside the vehicle. The unnamed woman told FHP that he’d left looking for gas. The report noted that the Medical Examiner’s Office did not know the “nature” of Haskins’ relationship with the woman.

quote:

Haskins also tested positive for ketamine and norktamine (sic), drugs that can be used as a medical anesthetic but can also be used a recreational drugs. The toxicology report does not give any indication of why the drugs would have been in his system.

ketamine is given all the time in emergency rooms as a sedative to knock patients out when they're getting intubated. also, given as a shot to a batsh*t patient going crazy and uncontrollable

no idea if ketamine is available for the average person in society, but more often than not, it's effects can be devastating when not given in a controlled and regulated environment

combined with haskins being more than twice the legal limit of being drunk, the whole thing makes more sense

Never heard of it being used in a college setting but it was a club drug in NYC/Miami in the 2000s and 2010s. I assume that’s still the case

Being hammered and on special K really explains how this accident occurred
