I've got a good feeling about Rodgers. I really like this signing, and it has zero risk. He's won a Gold Glove. One swing tweak could be all it takes to make him hit like a star.

Altuve
Rodgers
Yainer
Paredes
Walker
We bout to have a lineup full of dead pull hitters who have no idea right field exists.

If we can get something from the OF and have guys like Caratini, Rodgers, Dubon, etc give us something, I really don’t see a big drop off from last year. Especially if guys like Spaghetti and Brown are settled in from the start and we get some of the MASH unit back by mid summer.

Yeah, the combination of Walker and Paredes should equal out to Bregman and a half season of Tucker, since 1B provided zero production.
Pitching should be unchanged with the possibility of improvement.
Still have to get more out of the OF to win a playoff series, and you can't count out the possibility of Diaz and Pena making significant strides.
Maybe just a dash of Hopium.

Owlie we've got a lineup. Get this "off season" and "Bregman" trash out of the title. We're done with that.

Time to start a spring training thread.

Dubon and Chas lead us off. And we've got 2 outs on 3 pitches. Astros baseball is back.

Is it me or does singleton seem to be in better shape?
Posted on 2/22/25 at 12:54 pm to bigberg2000
Rome had an article today saying Dubon is up to 190 and Singleton slimmed down significantly.
They are both in the “best shape of our life” camp
