It really is stupid the things "journalist" use to create controversy.

I'd like for Altuve not to lead off anymore. But I don't know that there's any better suited options. Also think the LF thing is a bit overblown. This graphic is from MLB and they present it as if he's going to be the LF.

I'd still expect Gamel or Dubon in LF more often than not but if it's not a disaster in ST you might get Altuve in LF for Framber games at home.

ASTROS DJ BATTLE!! Mauricio Dubon has received many votes to be the new Astros clubhouse DJ (below post) but now the new 1B Christian Walker has officially thrown his hat into the ring! (DJ siren noise!!!)

ASTROS DJ UPDATE: ?There was still NO music in the clubhouse this morning. ??Jose Altuve says he does NOT want to be the DJ and that it CANNOT be Chas McCormick. ?Altuve nominates Mauricio Dubon or Jake Meyers.

May not mean much but I like seeing the dudes have some fun with this. Like to the point they're not even playing clubhouse music because they're politicking over who's gonna be the dude. Last year's team to me seemed way too business like. Like a bunch of veterans who showed up, did the job and went home. Just didn't seem like a loose group having a bunch of fun enjoying themselves. No character. No energy.

For anybody to take this lineup serious in a playoff series, an OF bat will have to show up in Spring or be acquired at the deadline.

But to get to that point, Paredes and Walker will need to be productive all season with Pena establishing himself as a bona fide starting SS for a contender.

Yes, and we want Pena to be a pre-MsTexas Carlos Correa at SS, not an Adam Everett SS.

I really fricking HATE that lineup 7-9. Really 6-9. Don't see Pena all of a sudden making this huge leap at the plate.

He doesn't need to make a huge leap. He just needs to get somewhere closer to his rookie season and farther away from last season.

Literally just needs to not swing at sliders and he's golden

I will be shocked if they go over the tax. I'm guessing another reliever at the deadline is about all that's left.

Bregman has been exposed to more team drama and me first teammates in 5 days as a Red Sox than he was in 7 years in Houston. Hope he's enjoying himself.

Hmmm posted 4.4 WAR in 2022. Was a pretty big time prospect as a SS if I’m remembering correctly but has been exclusively second base last three seasons.

This kinda feels like they are going to run Tuve out in LF at a pretty solid clip and have Rodgers get run at second base and allow Dubon to shine in the super utility role? This definitely allows for some flexibility that I was beginning to worry about if Dubon was going to start every day somewhere.

Drafted in the same draft as Bregman in 2015. It’s a minor league deal with a spring training invitee. Also won a Gold Glove in 2022

Disregard my stupid point should have looked at the home/road splits that hoohoo brought up.

Probably just a competition add to camp hoping there is some juice in there somewhere. Worst case he can come off the bench and play some infield if he makes the club

No doubt. Good pull, I immediately went to his batted ball profile and didn’t notice anything unique but didn’t check his splits.

He sees lefties pretty well though it looks like 298/359/484

I mean it's a low risk minor league deal. Sure, why not? And at the least, he apparently plays pretty good defense. I just don't have much expectations he's worth a damn outside of Coors. That's a pretty long track record with a drastic split.
