He was a machine last season in the playoffs. Hes very capable of being a great hitter hopefully he finds it down the stretch
He has all the ingredients to be the next Howie Kendrick.

I mean here's to hoping he can hit, but super defensive outfielder that is CURRENTLY light hitting does absolutely nothing for the current roster
It just seems like a dumb trade all around, but whatever.

Sweeping both series this past week was the worst possible thing we could have done going into the deadline

He had a .421 OPS in the ALCS and a .580 OPS in the world series... but he did drag nuts on the Yankees in the ALDS.

I feel like around 80% of the trades made on this day every year are a team giving up next to nothing for an average major leaguer with a contract set to expire
I would rather do this than they try to make some big splash

You’re talking about a stretch. We don’t have an outfielder with any consistent history of hitting in the major leagues. Varsho is an upgrade. Not sure if it moves the needle but he’s better than what we have.
Again, my feelings on Varsho...Meh . We've got a stack of outfielders who can't hit. We need offense. So we got another outfielder who can't hit. Whatever, I'm not bothered by giving up Arrighetti. Just a guy. And we're clearly limited on moves we can realistically make. I'm just saying I'm not moved much by Varsho. Feels like another face in the crowd of outfielders with irrelevant bats.

CURRENTLY light hitting

Not worth getting mad or happy about, unfortunately.

I’m still stewing over the allegedly failed Larnach thing. I keep telling myself there had to be more to it.
Think of the gap between Abreu and Santa/Teng or whomever they might have backfilled for him.
Now think of the gap between Larnach and anybody in our outfield.

Nobody cares about losing areighetti. Go build a other straw man.

Still 25 minutes or so to go, but feels like Crane may have green-lighted a deal just to say they did something. Otherwise, he didn't want Brown torching what little farm system they have if he knows he's not renewing Brown's contract when the season ends.

It sums up the Dana Brown era but all of these decisions are Jim Crane.
