Just an embarrassing deadline. Fire sale would have been better tbh

Added no arms and a sub-par CF

Good thing we didn’t trade away Abreu though!

We're in no meaningful way better than yesterday but I guess the good news we didn't destroy the farm for this version of the Astros.

Not destroying the farm is a win

However, we’ve needed a reliable LH OF bat since Dana took over 3 years ago and here we are still asking for one. He’s a shite GM, I don’t care what restraints Crane has on him

He needs to go

BUT whoever we get next will be more of the same. Crane just wants his scapegoat while he meddles

I suppose he’s been as poor as Crane and Bagwell have allowed him to be. If they are truly cutting his legs out from underneath him.

Maybe I'm naive. But is there really a farm to not destroy?

There’s pieces down there

You can't go by prospect rankings. Big market prospects always carry pseudo-value

Off topic somewhat, the Orioles butt fricked the Red Sox. I would have given them Diaz for one-third of that haul

All of this.

That’s why I’m on record as saying I was good with going for it with this group this year, long shot though it may be. It’s a longer shot that this owner (I’m no longer calling him by name…I’m channeling my best “Howard in Memorial”. ) can get this turned around. He’s broken.

The outfield has been a problem for 4 years now. These assholes looked at this OF group and what was in SL this past offseason and thought, “all good!” Let that sink in.

Maybe with prime Altuve, Correa and Walker, they could have gotten by. But it’s their job to have known that’s no longer the case. And they didn’t…or they don’t care.

The farm is actually starting to build up again. The lowest levels show real promise.

There you go.. a sub-90 OPS+ guy is immediately a middle of the order bat.

I was good with the deadline as long as they* didn't do anything stupid. And they didn't. So that's a plus.

*they because we all know Brown had his hands tied. I'm sure he'll be happy to move on. Probably go find success elsewhere.

Still not a big fan of Joe Espada, but he's a MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better manager than Dana Brown is a GM. Ima throw a Playboy Mansion-esque party when his arse is gone after this year and the entire DAT is invited.

To be fair, unlike Brown, Espada's balls aren't in Crane's purse.

I liked the hustle to first. Didn’t give up like a lot of pros. I hope he works out and produces on the reg.
