I've seen in numerous times where people have gotten a CCW permit then state they almost never carry. A useless behavior but that's on them.
Some people do it so they don’t have to fill out a 4473 every time they buy a gun.

Not me. I don’t hate them. I just think they’re way overpriced. I’ve owned a few over the years but have never got the cult-like following (not you) over a very vanilla gun.

To everyone, the question was about being comfortable. Of course I would. I’m confident it would get me out of the situation and live to tell the tale.

Prefer? Of course not. All of the points about stopping power are obvious ones and not really arguable. But they don’t address the OP.

If you don’t think it would do damage though, I invite you to come over for an experiment

My buddy swears on this one from Primary Arms for his 10/22. I can’t personally vouch for it but he is a gun nut and knows his shite.

ARs are crazy cheap as of late. I’d bet you’ll see a good deal on it again.

What is the allure of it over a polymer striker, or a 1911?

Ungodly reliable. Accurate. Low recoil. It is basically everything you could ask a pistol to be. I have three 92s and I’m thinking of grabbing this one too.

what I said was the overwhelming general rule. I have barrels that don’t fit into what I said. I doubt the OP has anything weird.

1/2x28 for 556 and 9mm. 5/8x24 for your 30 cals.

Never been a glock fan. Don’t hate em, I just thought they were overpriced.

That being said, I’m looking forward to getting my hands on one and test drive it.

That’s exactly what this is. About 200 rds through it so far and fires great and still tight.

Go get this for a basic starter AR. Learn what you like and don’t like. If you have buddies with other ARs, try and shoot those for comparison.

There are TONS of options and this is a good vanilla starter. Watch a lot of youtubes, read a lot on here, and consume as much info as possible. Get you a cheap red dot and get good at 100 yds.

After you put 500-1000 rds through it, maybe try an upgrade (trigger, bcg, buffer, etc). The beauty of ARs is they are easy to work on and modify.

Would any non glock fan buy one in this scenario?

I’m very agnostic on Glocks. They’ve never really impressed me but I don’t think they’re crap either.

That being said, I wouldn’t buy one unless it was just a great deal. Currently, there’s a ton of hype and people will try and take advantage.
Glock probably did minimal changes to avoid further suits.

I haven’t seen the changes yet, but I would imagine they aren’t huge. Buy stock in Dremel.
