Both do better than "Baseball towns" like Detroit, St. Louis and Cincy.

Both Texas and Houston would be better off in separate leagues. It sucks that MLB let the Brewers move to the NL and made Houston and Dallas play in the same division. I grew up in Louisiana pulling for the Astros. Moved to Dallas in 1983 and became a Ranger fan. Always pulled for the Astos to win the NL, but would have pulled for the Rangers if they had ever played. I puled for the Cowboys except when they played the Saints. It was good for business when the Cowboys won. Everyone in town was in a better mood on Monday morning when the Cowboys won.

Dfw probably could, one in Dallas and one in Fort Worth.
I dont’t think Fort Worth could support an expansion NHL or NBA team though. Too many people are already lifelong Stars and Mavs fans and aren’t going to suddenly change allegiances.

The pro leagues would add Austin or SA before a 2nd franchise in Houston or DFW.

I think if you put an NFL team in Dallas proper it would gain a lot of fans b/c of people are sick of Jerry.
NFL is the only league you could get the city council and populace behind b/c it would let them redo the Cotton Bowl and help stave off attempts to steal away the state fair and Texas/OU.

The older franchises also developed before the era of modern publicly-financed palaces. It takes so much cooperation between city, county, and state officials to get a stadium deal done now that it's hard to imagine any metro outside of NY & LA ever wanting to jack w/ multiple teams in the same league.
