Two teams in the same market no longer makes financial sense. Move the Mets to Charlotte, White Sox to Nashville, Angels to SLC, Jets to San Antonio and Chargers to San Diego

North DFW could support a 2nd NFL team but Jerry and his family would never allow it.
From where I live it takes an hour (at least) to get to a Cowboy’s game, it’s a pain in the arse.

Downtown Dallas could handle an MLB team, but more likely Austin/San Antonio would be a better spot

The Cubs are on the north side and the Sox on the south side of Chicago so it works there. In NYC, because of the boroughs, it was feasible to have borough-centric franchises (Dodgers in Brooklyn, Yankees in the Bronx, Giants in ?, and now the Mets in Queens).
Not familiar enough with the DFW challenges, but all three stadiums for Houston are inside the I-610 loop. So, I don't see how it would work here. Population's there, but not the natural geographic boundaries.

I actually think Dallas could have enough support for a 2nd NFL team via a weird coalition of transplants who grew up hating the Cowboys but would be willing to switch allegiance to a different Dallas NFL team, natives who just didn’t like the Cowboys as kids but would support a different team to just troll/be different, and disgruntled Cowboys fans who hate Jerry and are sick and tired of him.
Obviously that team would still be FAR behind the Cowboys in popularity (and Jerry / the NFL owners would obviously block any such move/attempt), but I think there could be enough people in that weird hodgepodge of Cowboys haters in Dallas for it to hypothetically survive. (And not having that disdain is why I don’t think a 2nd NFL team could survive in Houston.)
As for the other sports… I’m not going to say it’s impossible, but it’s a different era in how sports are consumed now, and I simply don’t think it’s feasible anymore outside the huge cities of NY and LA. Chicago’s two baseball teams are based on local geographical and AL/NL considerations that were huge deals a century ago but no longer are really as relevant. And Chicago has only one team in the other sports.

Houston, probably not. Astros, Rockets, and Dynamo are all locked and located in the city’s center, and NHL is likely to face problems if they name a franchise anything but the ‘Aeros’. Your lone outside chance at two teams is moving the Oilers back from Tennessee, and I don’t think anyone wants that.
DFW, I think could get a team if they focus on the Dallas and Ft Worth split. But the Cowgirls and Rangers in Arlington stops that. I don’t see the NBA able to make that split with lack of talent, nor NHL able to make it without expanding to 50+ teams. Soccer probably could, but the USL already shoved their DFW team in Dallas.
