I can see the value he adds despite the W/L record, but who were they bidding against?
Can’t argue with one thing, the man is awfully good at making money.

What does this have to do with whether or not he deserved the massive contract for accomplishing absolutely nothing other than getting celebrities and former NFL players on the sidelines?
You clearly just don’t get it.

That’s actually a bargain considering the money he’s brought to the university already

We went over the $ numbers in a previous thread. They barely turned a profit last year with the Heisman winner and all the hype. With profit sharing, they'll be back in the hole this upcoming season.
I get it. Hype, cool factor, advertising, blah blah. But from a dollars and cents perspective, making him one of the highest paid coaches doesn't make any sense.

That's NC-caliber tier money for Prime

Why is every athletic director a moron?

Forget Deion I’m shocked Colorado is breaking the bank like that for anyone

Top 10 highest paid for a 13-12 record at CU

MSB will continue to look like fools hating on Deion

Not only has Deion made Colorado relevant, but they have been one of the most talked about teams the past 2 years all across college football. Call it hate watching if you will, but people absolutely tune in to watch Colorado play football.
Colorado featured 11 times in the 100 most watched games of 2024.

It does if you consider it as marketing budget for the university.
The battle for higher paying out of state students is real and this helps to keep that pipeline open for CU. Out of state students pay almost $30 grand more per year to attend than in-state. One benefit is providing a hedge against reduced government funding and CU has steadily been increasing the percentage of students that are non-resident.

This is a Joe Alleva move. Was anybody even trying to steal Dieon from CU?

The buff AD just made fat Scott look decent at contracts

But why?
Colorado and Prime have been by far the biggest turnaround in power 5 football

Still has exactly 0 wins versus any team ranked at the end of the season.
