On TNT going against NFL games it’s expected

So TNT pays money to feature two games. How many "try this for a week for free" were downloaded because (and only because) they were featuring those games?

The bottom line should be: did TNT make money from advertising dollars and did they attract new customers?

Did anyone see new and clever ads there or just the SOS that they had already seen multiple times on ESPN?

In addition to this keep in mind that the Oregon game kicked at 7:30 pm ET (more likely closer to 8) so you had a majority of the country, out east, going to bed before it was over.

On a Saturday??? lol naw

NYD will be fun, but I don't think the general public really has much of an attention span for two more rounds after that. That said, it's winter, and there isn't much to do in many places -- so, ratings may be fine.

Nobody outside of the south gives a frick about an Ole Miss. Let's not put the blame solely on the G5 schools.

Yeah, it was Ole Miss and not the fact that they were going to blow away Tulane on a channel no one watches, going against the NFL. Add to that they got nearly 50% more viewers than Oregon did in a primetime slot. Definitely Ole Miss

the G5 needs ot have their own little mini-playoff and have a G5 championship.

Boise State was the match that lit the fuse on this whole shite show...

Yep. The second OU shite the bed in the Fiesta Bowl, losing on two of the greatest trick plays in history, people started saying G5 schools could hang with the big boys.

I was simply pointing out it was another of the many factors that lead to low ratings. Not the sole factor.

They won’t keep the G5 schools out but look for additional teams, rounds and manipulation to get any future G5 schools “weeded out” earlier.

Only reason there were two was the ACC champ was 7-5.

Utah beat Pitt in a BCS bowl two years earlier.

joke of a league (G5) and your 12 game schedule consists of teams barely about high school level

The shittiest G5 team would beat the best high school team of all time 1000-0.

14.8 million viewers for that A&M game at 11 AM central. 70% less viewers for the Oregon game in primetime.

Need to start the season a couple weeks earlier and have continuous play with playoffs wrapping up by New Year’s Day.

G5 teams should have to be undefeated with at least 2 P5 wins to be eligible.

The day a G6 beats a p4 is the day this all ends.

Greg Sanky would go on a national radio tour then bitch until the rules got changed.

And we knew the outcome because the same game happened a few weeks before, meaning there was little chance of a Cinderella upset to hook the viewers.

I'd bet money the Cotton Bowl had better ratings.

Ohio State vs. Miami should get better ratings when they play the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Eve

Wednesday, Dec. 31
