Teofilo Stevenson could have been the GOAT HW boxer.

What if Cus D'Amato lives another 5-10 years? Does Tyson finish as a top 5 all time heavyweight?

The best high school player I’ve ever seen wasn’t good in college. Doesn’t really count but it will add to the discussion. Brock Berlin was unbelievable to watch as a high school quarterback.evangel ran that super deep shotgun and he just sat back and threw lasers all game. I just don’t understand how he didn’t pan out

If Ryan Perriloux isn’t stupid, LSU never goes thru the later Miles years and Ryan likely goes pro and makes himself a decent bit of money.

Brock Berlin playing for Larry Coker's lifeless pro style offense had something to do with it. Especially with Dan Werner as OC, he was only slightly better than Jeff Bowden in those early 2000s years

Evangel’s offense was something they drilled the kids on for years and could execute immaculately by the time they were seniors.
It also was pretty unlike anything run at the next level so I think he didn’t necessarily have the skills developed that he needed to be a regular QB instead of a shotgun superstar.

Raiders' quarterback Todd Marinovich.

Has to be up there too. What would his career have looked like if he actually gave a shite?

Derrick Rose. Cut down by injuries the year after becoming the youngest MVP ever in the NBA.

I always thought that if Spurrier would not have gone to the NFL that Berlin would of stuck around and waited for his turn after Grossman left. He was a perfect for fit for that Fun N Gun offense.

Imagine prime Favre with a healthy Sterling Sharpe for a few years.

Roymon Malcom was a big name in HS, RB out of Ruston. Went to Auburn iirc and tore his knee up.

Maybe I missed it, but has no one mentioned Jay Williams yet? I always thought he was gonna be fantastic in the NBA. You could also throw in Bobby Hurley and Ramon Ramos as players whose careers were ended by car accidents. I know Drazen Petrovic has already been mentioned.

I would like to know how things would have played out with the Cowboys if Jimmy Johnson had stayed a few more years and kept the discipline and had better drafts.

Can’t recall his name but he was a beast at WR at Okie st. And then the drugs got him.

Fred Taylor was nasty but always hurt it seemed. Would have enjoyed seeing him play his career all the way out. Same with Shaun Alexander.
