Bo's mistake was playing FB. He had all the money and fame with baseball. Be careful of what hobbies you choose.

What's tragic is that modern medicine and orthopedics would have saved their careers. David Clyde and The Bird are the biggest what ifs in mlb pitching history to a certain degree.

Bo immediately came to mind

Ben Simmons. If he knew how to shoot he would dominate the NBA.

Russell Shepherd in college if Les Miles dumb arse would have utilized him correctly (ie, at all)

Lebron if he chose football over basketball. He’s be the GOAT TE most likely

Roy Hobbs if he hadn't struck out the Whammer on 3 pitches and got shot by a psychotic bitch over a $100,000 bet

David Clyde may have had a much longer career had the Rangers brought him along properly.

Same with Danielle Hunter at LSU. What could have been if he was properly coached.

Bias was ACC Player Of The Year at a time when the ACC was winning titles and producing players like Michael Jordan and James Worthy.
He may have turned into nothing at the next level but he was seen as a Jordan-level prospect.

Josh Booty if he would have come to LSU the first time around and played football and baseball here.

What if the Packers had drafted Barry Sanders instead of Tony Mandarich. Being in a more competent organization probably extends Sanders career a handful of years and would ultimately have been paired with Favre two years after being drafted.
I've thought if that many times. Favre, Sanders and Sterling Sharp on the same team? Yes please.
Speaking of Sterling, he's another that had his career cut short when he appeared to be an all time great.

Tim Richmond, Alan Kulwiki, and Davey Allison come to mind for me.

Bias was a stud. He was definitely destined for greatness.

I'm going to separate mine by sports.
Baseball
Steve Busby-pitched two no-hitters had one twenty win season and then blew out his arm all in a span of about four years with the Royals in the 1970s.
Randy Jones-Cy Young Winner with the Padres, had a chance to win 30 games in 1975 and then blew out his arm
Lyman Bostock-was looked at as being possibly the next Rod Carew before being murdered in the early 1980s
Fred Lynn-won Rookie of the Year and MVP with the Red Sox in 1975 before becoming the baseball version of Bert Jones.
Football
Joe Delaney
RGIII
Sean Taylor
Jerome Brown
Hockey
Anyone who played on the Soviet Red Army teams before the late 1980s
Pelle Lindburgh
Cam Neely
Vladimir Konstanenov
I think everyone has already hit on the basketball ones. Now for the really long list--auto racing
Greg Moore
Jim Clark
Gilles Villeneuve
Ayrton Senna
Peter Revson
Mark Donahue
Francois Cevert
Ronnie Peterson
Gunnar Nielson
Carlos Pace
Robert Kubizca
Michele Alboretto
Ernie Irvan
Blaine Johnson
Eric Medlen
Lee Sheppard

Ernie Davis. Died of leukemia before ever playing a down in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns would have had Jim Brown and Ernie Davis as their running backs.
In the day when RB was nearly as important as QB.

Salvador Sanchez arrived and vanished
Only twenty-three with so much speed
Owning the highway
Mexico City bred so many
But none quite like him sweet warrior
Pure magic matador

Marcus Dupree’s name has been mentioned a few times, but I want to give a shout out to the 30 for 30 on him called The Best That Never Was. It was top notch
