Doesn't change the fact that he could have been in the league longer

I’m shocked we’ve made it this far and no mention of Ben Simmons! To me, he is the poster child of not caring! He basically took a year off and kept making different excuses as to why he couldn’t play. He has never really seemed to try to get any better at shooting!

I don't know if he does. He left NO because he had some mental issues. He was productive in Miami, and made it clear in that 30-for-30 that he wanted to walk away from the game before he couldn't walk any longer. RBs have incredibly short shelf lifes, and he went out on his own terms.

I kinda respect him for that. Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders did the same things.

Some of the names mentioned here at least had a few productive years.

There are some extremely talented players that fell off the face of the earth as soon as they got drafted and got the money. Look at Johnathan Sullivan.

I’m not so sure about this. Could he have done more if he hadn’t spent nearly 2 years in prison? Sure.

But the man racked up plenty of accolades in college and the pros (a career that lasted 13 seasons). I’ve never felt as if Vick just wasted his talent.

John "Hot Plate" Williams
6'8", 240 low post monster with good handles and a good passer. Between knee injuries and eating his way up to 300 pounds, he ended his career way too soon.

He has flat out admitted that he didn't take it nearly as seriously as he should have in the NFL. He never really took the next step as a passer until he got out of prison and went to Philadelphia.

When Ricky wanted to be on....which was rarely, overall he was someone who could not be stopped. Still rushed for 10K yards in his career.

If his head was screwed on right his name would be mentioned up there with Smith, Payton and Sanders.

T Mac is a good candidate. Raw talent but was a lot like James Hardin and often didn't put in effort.

How? He had a great career that was 3x as long as the average RB and continued to run hard and have huge games late into his career as a Dolphin
