He's almost 80 and he's not doing baseball play-by-play. If you're doing baseball you can last until your 80s. Jack Buck stopped doing football and he continued in baseball. Brickhouse, Harwell, Carey, and so on could continue doing baseball, but the other sports are not so kind as we age.

It'd be one wild card game, not the Super Bowl or anything. Doing this a month before the playoffs is weird timing, too.
Al Michaels have always butt heads with NBC’s top executives since they moved him to Thur, he probably finally said something unforgivable.
