Yeah I've been saying for 2 weeks that nobody celebrates getting beat like the Olympics. The way the US men's gym team was bouncing around and the media was sucking them off, then they only got bronze? GTFO Give me a competitor like Maroney anyday over somebody happy to be 2nd or 3rd.
Maroney was expected to win the vault. If she would have gotten any medal at any other event she would have been thrilled. Y’all are insufferable people who sit on your coach bemoaning the 2nd and 3rd best people at an event that only happens every 4 years in the entire world.
The men’s gymnastics team were surprise bronze medalists. Same with Grant Fisher and Yared Nuguse. That’s why all those people were so happy. If our men’s basketball team would have gotten bronze they’d be pissed.

This thread is actually way better than that. We are actually criticizing someone who won 3 golds this Olympics with how she reacted to her silver

And yet, we on tigerdroppings have scraped the fricking barrel to make a negative thread
Honestly, I am truly impressed
it's a pretty small minority, in fairness. It's the usual incels like Seeek who wake up looking for something to bitch about and find nothign to enjoy in life. Imagine sitting out these Olympics, which were fricking awesome, because some perceived microaggression triggered you.

In general I agree but the Brazilian earned some major respect this Olympics and I think it’s fine for the GOAT to recognize that she got beat. If it was the all around.. yea I’d hope for a different look..

they purposely cheated the Romanian out of bronze, so they could have their "Black", podium.
then just as quick as they allowed it, they changed it and Romanian was given her rightful medal.
Another proud "American"

Having an all black podium was not the driving force. The driving force was they judged her incorrectly, and the judges agreed with the coaches. She was stripped of her bronze for 2 reasons. The coaches were 4 seconds late in their challenge (BS rule), and the judges screwed up on the other Romanian girl's score and assessed her a penalty when she did not step out. Had her coaches actually cared enough, they challenge that, and Chiles challenge isn't even a topic.

I was one who thought the mental health thing was an excuse till I researched it. It was life threatening. Different than being able to throw a ball to first base or pulling a drive. Can’t imagine doing a flip and not knowing which way was up.

After seeing the drunk celebrations of Jokic and the Serbian basketball team, I’ll give any poster on Tigerdroppings a thousand dollars if they walk up to anyone on the Serbian team and call them a loser cuck who is proud of his participation trophy bronze medal.

I’m sure if Simone had a bad attitude when she lost, the same people criticizing her lack of care would be praising her determination and not at all saying she’s a poor loser. For sure.

Reminds me of when the Rapinoe women won the olympics or world cup or whatever a few years ago. When we beat the British, alex Morgan did some mock tea cup gesture and this place went wild with salty tears about their sportsmanship. Had they lost and done some gesture like Biles, the refrain would have been "Look how soft they are!"

It’s kinda a weird cowinky dink dink that Jokic isn’t getting roasted for celebrating the bronze like an absolute madman. Especially considering he was stoic when actually winning an nba title
So strange this board missed that….

My dislike of Simone Biles is due to how she quit on her team in Tokyo to focus on her "mental health" but then suddenly felt better and came back when her team carried on and performed well without her.
It's almost like people who take time to get better, get better.

two but as great as she is I feel like she could have been even greater if she had the same level of grit and determination that McKayla Maroney or Kerri Strug had.

She took time for her mental health, and is now the oldest all-around gold medal winner in 72 years at an Olympics. She won vault, team, and got a silver on the vault. But yes, imagine if she was able to get a silver on vault or zero individual medals like Kerri Strug

She is responsible for 3 golds
Yeah, but that narrative never seems to apply to Simone. People just seize on things they can use in the negative.

Maroneys heart led her to zero wins as an individual at the Olympics. Zero
Biles heart led her to 5.
Enjoy your participation heart trophy loser
Maroney is a World and Olympic champion and has the best vault in history at the 2012 Olympics in the team final. Nothing about her is a participation trophy.

She had a visible limp heading into that routine. Announcers kept mentioning that it looked like she tweaked something in warmups. Saw an article saying she reaggravated a calf injury.
I think they showed a clip after her warmup of her saying, "Ow.... frick, that hurts".
