A lot of people criticized McKayla Maroney's disappointment in 2012...

After failing to win the event she was favored in. She still brought home silver, but her reaction to not taking home gold is how a competitor should react in my opinion. Instead of doing this:

She did this:

In the video she was trying to fight back tears while still trying to maintain respect for the Romanian girl who defeated her.

No arguments here. Silver means you didn’t come in first. Right to be pissed instead of praising the one who bested you.

My dislike of Simone Biles is due to how she quit on her team in Tokyo to focus on her "mental health" but then suddenly felt better and came back when her team carried on and performed well without her.

They should get rid of silver and bronze medals IMO

Keep in mind the vault was her event. She was the best in the world and dominated every other competition. It was her only chance at an individual gold medal that everyone thought was a formality. The situations aren’t apples to apples.

I really hate how people say Biles quit to focus on her mental health like it was a bad thing. The girl had the yips. In golf, you slice the ball or miss a gimme putt. In gymnastics, that shite can be fatal.

All she had to do to win gold was land the vault. I don’t think Simone was happy after her beam routine. Simone also went home with 3 golds, a silver, and had 7 other medals previously. Maroney had her team medal, but the fall gave her silver. She was that much better than everyone else.

Situations matter for how people respond to something.

Simone was a strong favorite to win gold on floor. I'm surprised people haven't blamed her for the US not winning the gold count.

they purposely cheated the Romanian out of bronze, so they could have their "Black", podium.

then just as quick as they allowed it, they changed it and Romanian was given her rightful medal.

i said this as soon as she withdrew,

you have yips in running, eh, u can get thru it, get yips while hurling yourself into the air, pass.

Can it really? This is the excuse Biles fans always spout. But have we ever heard of aomeone dying from the dreaded twisties? Getting hurt, sure. But the excuse is always that she could have died.

Yeah I've been saying for 2 weeks that nobody celebrates getting beat like the Olympics.

The way the US men's gym team was bouncing around and the media was sucking them off, then they only got bronze? GTFO

Give me a competitor like Maroney anyday over somebody happy to be 2nd or 3rd.

Sure they're not. However, she still chose to compete even though she was dealing with a concussion, a broken bone in her foot, as well as a broken nose. Despite all of that she won silver and still wasn't happy about it.

Bro her mental health quickly became fine once she saw the Olympic team rolling and she wasn't apart of it.

I can't believe she's been in the public consciousness for 12 years already. Geez...
