Bro her mental health quickly became fine once she saw the Olympic team rolling and she wasn't apart of it.
Huh? She stopped doing gymnastics for years. What exactly are you talking about?

I'm surprised people haven't blamed her for the US not winning the gold count.

Give me a competitor like Maroney anyday over somebody happy to be 2nd or 3rd.
Y’all’s shite is starting to jump the shark

The way the US men's gym team was bouncing around and the media was sucking them off, then they only got bronze? GTFO
No shite it's not the same as gold but it's a good stepping stone and upward trajectory for 2028

Dude she was competing in the Olympics but was struggling - then dropped out to focus on her mental health. However, the team was doing well without her and Simone Biles was an afterthought - but then she suddenly felt great and came back.
For that reason, I didn't buy the mental health excuse. She quit when things weren't going great but rejoined when the spotlight wasn't on her any more and she wasn't apart of a winning team.

Getting hurt, sure. But the excuse is always that she could have died.
Died or injured to the point of not being able to compete anymore. Why risk that?

I would rather have someone with the skill of Simone Biles and the heart of McKayla Maroney.

Maroneys heart led her to zero wins as an individual at the Olympics. Zero
Biles heart led her to 5.
Enjoy your participation heart trophy loser

Despite all of that she won silver and still wasn't happy about it.
Of course she wasn’t happy she was the best in the world at the vault by a wide margin and got silver. She only appeared in one Olympics it was her only time to shine. Very different from Biles’ situation.

I don’t think there is a right or wrong way between the two. Both handled the way that fits them.

She didn't know that at the time though.
Everyone fully expected her to be back for the 2016 Olympics in Rio and so did she. Then Larry Nassar happened. Couple that with her various injuries and you get her shocking retirement announcement in 2016 as Team USA is preparing for the Olympics.

Biles is certainly the better gymnast between the two but as great as she is I feel like she could have been even greater if she had the same level of grit and determination that McKayla Maroney or Kerri Strug had.

Maybe if those others had as much grit as Biles they would have actually been better and become the most decorated US gymnast ever.
Those two quit way way way younger than Biles….

My dislike of Simone Biles is due to how she quit on her team in Tokyo to focus on her "mental health" but then suddenly felt better and came back when her team carried on and performed well without her
Yep. You think Bear Bryant would have allowed a player to take a mental health break?

Biles won three more golds this Olympics
And yet, we on tigerdroppings have scraped the fricking barrel to make a negative thread
Honestly, I am truly impressed
