That's not the point, but you already knew that. Market dictates everything. If peuple are valuing higher then you're retarded if you don't price yours accordingly, or consider it when purchasing.

well you better start, especially if buying or setting a price to sell on the marketplace

I’m aware when selling. Just saying when I buy if no low serial numbers are available for a reasonable price I have a cutoff to where I’ll just buy at the lowest ask point

and that's fine. #1, jersey number and last number will eventually be the ones that probably age well. 843 vs 312, not so much.

Just hate seeing things like this
Within minutes of each other too.

#1-99 mints have value
jerseys numbers
meme numbers (69, 420)
#100-999

not sure if that will continue but in my selling experiences ive gotten more for those than just an avg mint

Is this one part of challenge? Seems like it’s the highest moment in the marketplace for the series.

Nice pull regardless.

Yeah it is the clear leader in Lowest Ask for the SS Series.

I expected the Curry 3 to be the most expensive when the initial set was revealed.

This is in no way what the current market consists of for long term holders. It's a bunch of guys trying to make a buck off the current bull market

This market is in a massive pump stage because of, as I've said 10000000 times, topshot created an inorganic marketplace.

They could have easily avoided this whole shite show and had a really awesome NTF to boom:

1. Create normalized set releases with single, normal packs. Hell, even do cheaper "retail" packs and then "hobby" packs priced accordingly

2. Have each retail or hobby pack contain (for this sake) 10 highlights. You get 8 "common/base" highlights that are numbered to basically unlimited, so x/500,000. The final 2 cards consist of the parallels or rarer cards, and these can consist of cards with a minimum of x/20,000 with the chance of one being better. Obviously you can scale this for bigger/better packs for the more expensive hobby packs

3) have all rookie highlight, whether base or parallel, be stamped. That way it will always be considered the "rookie" highlight.

Topshot, as it's run now, has a very bleak long-term outlook

I’m sure it has novelty now, but long term I don’t think the specific numbers have much value. We already have this system in physical trading cards and different numbers have little influence on the price, especially at absurd print runs like 10,000. There is no reason for that card to have much value at all long term.

From a logic perspective I can see your argument, but I think the cat is out of the bag on this cadence in regards to serial #s. It would take massive market correction to skew the value back to some sort of median price.

And FWIW, I think TopShot is ok with SNs carrying that insane multiplier. There’s quite a bit of “gamblers premium” associated with SNs. That sort of dopamine rush when busting packs adds a lot to the pack-opening experience.

Maybe once TS implements its own version of blinged-out versions of moments, the whales and hardcores will start to care less about SNs. But for now I think it’s here to stay.

The pack opening experience after waiting in line is awesome. I started playing the old Bulls intro before opening. I need that high again!

What I'm wondering. Paying for something freely available is such a 2021 thing to do.
